God, amazing feats like this and the beauty of the Arab culture make me want to punch anyone who writes them off as terrorists.

But, honestly...I seriously would love to go to Dubai. This enormous crown jewel makes Las Vegas look like cheap, chipping costume jewelery set in a rusting ring. Dubai is like the Hope Diamond affixed to a platnium frame. There is just no competition to be seen between the two.

Also - the country is not about to go broke. For one, Dubai spent a lot of money building places like this to develop tourism which in turn will bring in a lot of money back in for generations. Admittedly it doesn't have tuns of money just now, but it will never be properly broke. Secondly, Dubai isn't the country, the UAE is, and if you think the UAE is poor you might want to Google 'Abu Dhabi' - the UAE is very well off.

Why are people complaining and saying 'It's just a hotel'? It's really not - it's a massive world landmark (along with Atlantis Hotel, Burj Khalifa, Palm island, etc) that brings in millions upon millions of tourists every year and makes Dubai one of the best cities in the world to live in. If you don't like it go check in at a 2star hotel in the states and enjoy your flat screen TV. I'm from the UK but Dubai is an incredible place to visit.

This is my favourite hotel in the world! I want to desperately go there!! we are going to Dubai but my Mum And Dad rented an apartment out for a week, They said I can stay in any hotel in Dubai for a night but the Burj Al Arab has been BOOKED for the whole MONTH!!!! argghhhhh. The closest that im gonna get to it is by going to the jumeriah beach hotel.

It's not actually a 7 Star hotel, it's rated as 5 Star Luxury. The hotel has made no mention of it being 7 stars. It's because when the hotel was first built a British travel reporter said "I could not find any words to describe it, only to give it a 7 star rating to show it's different".
