MrDahve, Fright Night is a great film and has some of the most quotable dialogue around. Now, The Lost Boys is an overrated, silly film. Too Mtvish with thay annoying editing.

@MetalheadJay78 I'll pute in a good word for Andy Warhol's Blood For Dracula. It's one of the most unique, clever, original, and funniest vampire flicks in history,.. and also one of the most typicaly overlooked and pitifuly underated.

It's a popular vampire rule but in Lost Boys, you're powerless against them if you invite them. They can still come in uninvited, but if so, you can still defend yourself.
In Fright Night, they had to be invited by the rightful owner to come in at all, and crosses, etc, still worked against them. It didn't explain Evil Ed coming in uninvited, but he was also a good friend of Charley's before he was turned, and the head vampire had been invited, so maybe that allowed his minions in.

Ah, sounds like Salem's Lot, based on the Stephen King book. There was a 1979 TV miniseries of it, very well done for the time, and then a remake in 2004 with Rob Lowe.
There's a scene where the two boys come across the vampire in the woods and one is killed. The dead one comes back as a vampire, tapping at the window to be allowed in, but the other kid grabs a cross from his model graveyard set to scare it off. That boy later helps the good guy, Ben Mears, fight the main vampire.
i actually quite enjoyed lost boys 2, i mean its no where near as gd as number 1 lyk, but i think its quite a gd film, and btw its only in my top 10 coz ive only seen 12 vampire films nd 2 r kids ones (moms got a date with a vampire nd the little vampire)
lost boys 1 was awesome to me but the squel was terrible. The squel "Lost Boys 2 The Tribe" ruined such a good vampire. Well on the bright side at least we have 1 good Lost Boys movie to remember which is the 1st one
Yeah, I had several issues with part 2. For starters, Feldman's froggie voice, though cool when he was a kid, was way too fake this time. Second, the head vampire was a horrible actor. It's like he was just standing there reading his lines with no emotion. Total cardboard. Then there was all the garlic Frog kept using. In the first movie, they're told that garlic doesn't work by the bathtub vampire. So in 2, they broke one of their own rules. I could go on...
Totally agreed!!! and how that Sam Emerson was the main character in the origanal and in the second he is it after the movie is over. UGH! they shouldn't make sequels after such a long period of time.
The whole idea of the lost girls would be ok, but it would be like a remake, but with girls.
You must see the Sweedish vampire movie "Let the right one inn" ... it's a modern classic! Hollywood is alreading planning a remake, so see the original as fast as you can :)
