The restrictions are due to the fact that im a P Plater... The car now has a GT37R in it with all the goodies, its still 12a though. I will be getting my full licence in the next month or so when the car is finally back on the road.
Can anyone with experience owning a bridgeport point me to good website or series of forums about the service life on various parts you can expect from this modification. Additionally, how often the rebuilds occur?
love how u guys r fighting over youtube becuase sum1 asked a question lol fcking wankers n nice video mate im thinkin about buyin one of these love the ol 12a
@tregyslowagogo you can redline the 12 a to 8800 without blowing them if you take the rev buzzer out it starts to buzz at 6500 i believe...but thats stock...doing a full port and it will idle around 1800 but not really any lower then that and a good holly 750 cfm or something of that with headers will send your eyes into your head upon acceleration.
not exactly. most people port the inatke ports and theres difrent kinds street ports, bridge ports, peri ports.ppl dnt do exhaust ports Unless u have brand new housings and still thats mosty old school thats wen u start hearing about smiley or heart ports . the sound comes from overlap(time when intake and exhaust ports are open at the same time) Wich is achieved by porting.
i still dont get how a new guy into rotary gets knocked... our age group is a bunch of assholes. aaroncake on rx7 club is a great guy to talk to. his left side of the brain is tdc and right is bdc!!!
@ok333 just like boring out a crate motor....rotaries have ports like 2 strokes so they are opened and the ends are machined to allow more gas and exhaust to enter and exit..
a BP will effect fuel consumption and it will effect the life of the engine. you may also lose torque on the lower range of RPMs but will have a way larger amount of power in the topend. some street driven non-turbo 12A BP rotary cars can do 250KM/H.

P plate restrictions in Nsw Australia. P Platers can't drive any turbo cars as well as any car that has a "modification".

This is a junk engine and will ruin. I would replace it with a reliable piston engine that would have more power anyway.

air flow increases by an Ass load. Acselleration gets way better and fuel drops so so fast -_-
yet its so so much power coming out a 12a :)
SinisterObscurity 3 years ago
nice, i have a 12A stock rx7. what kinda performance increase is there when it is bridge ported? and does it effect fuel consumption and reliability?
