  • @willysnapit Yes Tony is still touring on the 60's cicuit, with The Merseybeats, The Merseys and solo, he and Billy still harmonise wonderfully well, you feel 15 again...x

  • wonder if tony crain still about

  • Oh what i would give to be able to go back to these times, better music, less drugs , less crime, life was far better in these days,

  • I saw the Merseybeats at the Parr Hall in Warrington back in the 60s, They did "Mr Moonlight and it was fab but with marracas in the backing. It made a huge difference and even surpassed The Beatles version. The Merseybeats version of "Fortune Teller" was mind blowing. Tony Crane and bass player Johny Gustafson made the girls go to jelly! Real chick pullers they were, The 60's on Merseyside, what a time to be a teenager, Aaahhh memories.

  • @bagginsofdashire You're right - we were so lucky to be on Merseyside in the '60's - so many great groups - even before so many of them became famous!!

  • I was around in the 60's and there were so many groups. I did not appreciate how really great these guys were. Superb both.

  • i hope that money grabbing fucker cowell hears this beautiful song

  • @ty3165 If he did he would have it released by one of his artists and hey another number 1 and money in the Bank!!!

  • @TheDavidjoy Imagine Robson and Jerome getting back together and doing this, A sure hit again. I wonder if they are still under contract? Who are their agents? I must be quick. Should I???? I must google artists, got to go........

  • Great song!

  • Yes , I agree with one reviewer here, This Moonlight version sounds much better than the Beatles version, well I prefer this Merseybeat version anyway.

  • I wish I'd been about for the Merseybeat scene. The Beatles etc....sounds like a fantastic era too....

  • @SweetSesatia It was. So glad I was a teenager in them days. Reliving my youth now at Lathom Club, Seaforth Liverpool every Thursday night.

  • What a remarkable and talented group. The Merseysound was a marvel

  • This is why their called Golden Oldies !!!

  • memories of when i was in my teens, i loved this song.

  • Aww! Sweet little song! I remember my Mum playing it. I love it too. I'm only in my twenties but I love 60s music through to 90s. I can't abide much of today's stuff. Some of it is okay but not much!

  • Thinking of you, Mr Moonlight!

  • ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! Those were the days, young and carefree..

  • Merseybeats had truly great set of voices and group should have gone further. Had bet with friend this song would go to No. 1 on Radio Luxembourg Top Ten, which needless to say, I lost.

  • Nevermind, nazno, it should have been a No 1. Brilliant song, its certainly stayed with me.

  • i listen to c d, very good isnt it

    but this numberis different version.

  • Great stuff,I actually played the B side Mr moonlight more than anything else at the time!

  • do u no the name of the merseybeats song with the lyrics i had 2 walk away get down on my knees and prey? i think its them that sing it

  • that`s from `Needles And Pins` by The Searchers

  • arr thankyou

  • @45rpmSINGLES And what a great song and band too. I have seen them 25 times in the last four years, - they are still going very strong too!!

  • @myvanwi I think a lot of us did, it was a much better version than the one done by another more well known liverpool group:)

  • thank you for posting, it brings back memories of only owning about 25 records in the early 60's, we had to play them over and over, b sides two.
