@erkell19 ok let it sit for a while turn it on then hit eject u dont have to hold buttons down. i had mw3 in it that night i got t out. anyways im sure sony wont fix it for life. best bet buy a new ps3 get ur old 1 fixed long enough to transfer data. theres the taking apart way and there is the blowdryer and fan way. but it will either last 2 months or 2 days. long enough to transfer data probably

@haze9444 sometimes u have to let it sit 4 a while as soon as u turn it on and get a blue light hit eject then it will come out. see after u let it sit it comes on for longer than it does has been for like 4 seconds or so. now it will come on and stay on long enough for u to get ur game out. i had mw3 stuck in mine too got it out last night. as for fixing it. u can try a blow dryer and fan solution or take it apart and do the soddering thing. shld work long enough to transfer data onto a new ps3

@Behemothfamiliar It's not so much Skyrim directly,as it is any game that over-taxes the system. What happens is games that cause lag and freezing makes the system heat up more while processing the lagging data and the solder flakes off the heat sync plate on the back of the chip which causes it to over heat and,YLOD. Fallout NV,Skyrim,Dead Island..all laggy games which freeze up the system and cause damage. Skyrim gets less shitty with each update. If yours is BWC,get it fixed and get a new one

This did not work for me. I have an 80gb PS3. It is an older model though. I have the one that came with Metal Gear Solid 4. Back when they used to put chrome on the ps3 and have 4 USB ports instead of 2. Everyone that I see using this trick has one of the newer 80GB models with 2 USB Ports.

Thanks dude, i also suffered from YLOD and FIFA 12 stuck inside. I tried the fan test as you explained and it did not work first time. I tried again and it worked a treat, at least i have my game back. Now i just need to see how i can get it repaired. Warranty has gone too! :(

SONY should send all people affected by YLOD replacements since the console breaks through no fault of our own, it is obviously an inherent problem within the console itself, therefore it is their fault!
