  • I still have 2 stuffed animal Figments that my kids had.

  • I loved Figment! He was my favorite! I had a little figurine of him. Good ol' days :)

  • i hope they reopen the rainbow tunnel i never went in it but it looks so cool!!!

  • Thanks for putting this up,Mcrtnyfan! I remember the first time I went thru the rainbow tunnel. I thought it was magnificent! It was 1985,and I was 35 years old. I spent hours in that place!!

  • @Nancyjean24 You are VERY welcome! I miss that tunnel and the whole original Imagination Pavilion!

  • @Nancyjean24 You are VERY welcome! I miss that tunnel and the whole original Imagination Pavilion!

  • The sad part is that the original Image Works remains upstairs rotting.

  • @Costerguy1234556 and I was so tempted to hop that rope leading up the stairs when I was there last!

  • @mcrtnyfan Yeah a darn shame management is so cheap.

  • @Costerguy1234556 I just don't understand why Disney has to mess with something that we all loved just for a "change" The regulars like us go back because of the things we love, the new people don't know what they've missed so what difference does it make if they change it or not. I miss Dreamfinder, Figment (Billy Barty) and that whole Imagination ride. So glad I videotaped this.

  • @mcrtnyfan It's the cheap management and even cheaper sponsor. :( I came back from my first trip to WDW a few weeks back. The new ride looked so cheap even to the point that my mother said "you got to imagine a better ride". I wish I could have seen this ride before it was turned into some cheap ride.

  • @Costerguy1234556 and the one that's there now is the redo of the first redo they did and this one sucks more then the first redo.........

  • @mcrtnyfan Oh and one last thing. Thanks for uploading these it's nice to be able to see what was once in the imagination pavilion.

  • @Costerguy1234556 You are VERY welcome :)

  • they took the imagination out of imagination. I just had a dream about it last night. all the fantasy, and the mystery, and the wonder. The big beautiful glass pyramid ceiling and that awesome second floor. *goes into nostalgic trance*

  • This is the one attraction that exemplifies everything that is wrong with rehabs. This was the best attraction in EPCOT and they ruined it.

  • Great video. I miss the EPCOT of yesteryear.

  • im going there in two weeks yeah im super happy hehe

  • Hi! I like DisneyWorld as well. Just wanted to comment. Cheers.

  • RAINBOW TUNNEL!!! *does happy dance*

  • Woe, i can still remember walking down that colored runway when I was a kid.

  • D: jealous.

  • Back when the Imagination pavilion was actually imaginative...*sigh*

  • one little spark! RIP Rainbow Tunnel. Fingers crossed that Epcot someday returns to the way it was; the way it should be <3

  • You all forget the other great things Disney has done to be modernized and keep up with the times...and the fact it's still number 1 in just about everything they do to this day. Keep doing what you're doing Disney, I love working for them and love going there. Look at the new Fantasyland they are building and everything they have been updating all back to that charm that is Disney.

  • How old are you?

  • 22 and I work for Disney.

  • Well then you're too young to even know about half of the old rides were talking about. We understand about keeping up with the times BUT there are some rides and attractions that they just shouldn't have messed with. I've been going to DisneyWorld before you were even born. Ask around about the old rides and see what people say.

  • I may not have been there for them, but I do know of them and many people who have been on them, and of course, they were great rides, but so are the ones they are making now. I work with Attractions, it's my role for Disney, and I know about what they do, what hidden things they have done and are going to do. I guess my point is, they still stick to the Disney philosophy, especially today with all the new things they are doing and coming out with.

  • I'm not downing Disney on all their new attractions, most of us are just saying that we miss some of the rides and wish they wouldn't have gotten rid of them. We started going to DisneyWorld in 1975 and I've been there a total of 18 times. I know with the terrible economy their trying to get people to visit with all the specials I've been seeing.

  • @mcrtnyfan Good news is. they're not doing so bad, expanding like crazy and still getting roughly the same amount on Guests. I have been to Walt Disney World way too many times, haha, but I never get sick of it and love the place! This tunnel always looked cool to me. I do miss TimeKeeper also, I have the full video from that one. I always thought it would be cool if they just put all the retired rides in one park.

  • That would be a great idea........"Yesterdayland" I remember when they got rid of The Mickey Mouse Revue and sent it to Japan. I'm pretty upset about that one, especially when I started having kids and brought them there I always wanted them to see that. All I have of that is super8mm film and I found one on You Tube but it's in japanese!

  • And the Disney Institute! I always wanted to go there, had the chance to more than once but never did. *sigh* That was my bad. I'm looking to go on a Disney Cruise later this year, it'll be my first cruise. :)

  • When my kids were little I would sign them up for classes when we went on Vacation. They loved it and they got to go in the tunnel. My son showed me the door he went through to go down. My dream has always been to work at the Haunted Mansion. I worked for the Disney Store a few months then they had sold all the Disney Stores so I left, and wouldnt' you know it they bought them back!

  • Ah the Haunted Mansion, I have friends that work there and they all say after being inside in the dark all day, you forget about the time and if you work in the morning, you walk outside and the sun is like WOW! haha I work in Fantasyland and on Main Street U.S.A., I love the Main Street costume so much! :)

  • I remember the bright neon uniforms the monorail members used to wear. But I do love the Haunted Mansion costumes but they probably changed them since the last time we were there in 2005

  • Maybe, but as I recall, they haven't changed much if at all. I spent 8 weeks in WDW last year, I'm going in March to work and August and December, can't wait!!

  • @Kai0nTheMoon The tunnel is still there and last I was up there it still works. Just blocked off to guests :(. So maybe one day they will use it again. That whole upper floor is empty.

  • I remembered this rainbow tunnel today, and I thought, "I'll look on YouTube, someone must have footage!"...and here we are! You don't know what sort of magical memories I have of that rainbow tunnel, my mother had to drag me out! I went back & forth in wonderment! It's summer, 1985 all over again, thank you! I'm now dismayed that I read that it no longer exists, I guess I'll have to build my own neon rainbow acrylic tunnel! Take that Disney! Thanks again!

  • You're very welcome. I LOVED that tunnel and loved just standing in the middle of it and listening.........it makes me cry knowing it's gone

  • Their is a picture with Michael Jackson in that tunnel in 1984.

  • So rad!! Great upload!!! I miss that rainbow tunnel too!!

  • Great video. Nice to see the monoral in the background. We were there in October/November 1988 and February 1990.

  • that makes 2 of us

  • DREAMFINDER! Wow do I miss him.

  • i used to love this! its soo beautiful. I miss the pin table and the rainbow walk through and I never seen Dreamfinder and Figment live i wish I could they look cool. I wish disney would go back to its old ways so that way when I have kids they can enjoy the better disney that i did.

  • I couldn't agree with you more!

  • how cute, I love figment and dreamfinder <3

  • those were the good old days

  • Wonderful. The only thing missing is the pin table!

  • I do miss that thing! My kids used to crawl under it and shove their face into it, creepy!

  • Oh my.. I forgot about that! The pin table was cool... I bet Disney was worried about germs or something :)

  • @Fishingcrue OHHHH the pin table I forgot about that....thanks for the memory jog!

  • @onesaint333 Is the pin table to make the shapes with your hand not there anymore? I haven't been there since late '80s, but am finally going back this fall.

  • Wow. I always saw the Figment puppet and Dreamfinder CM in official guide book pictures but never an actual footage of them. Thank you! ^o^ I miss the rainbow pavillion so much. Plus, a lot of the jumping water. I miss early 90s EPCOT!! Wahhh..

  • Thank you SO much for posting this! I worked here from early 96 to late 97 and also met my wife here. I appreciate you letting us all remember!

  • Your more then welcome!

  • This is where they killed the pavilion in my opinion. I like the ride, but the new imageworks sucks!

  • whats :56 to 1:06 of?

  • It was a beeeeyouteefull walk through rainbow to get to more fun things!

  • A subtle reminder that they ruined that pavilion, not just with that JIYI ride, but by turning Image Works into a ground-level,brightly-lit place.

  • i heard they might be doing something in the upper floor in imageworks
