  • Anyone else notice the white lamb on the door and her shirt??? and he says he is the lamb she is the slaughter... also, it could be the character has a man or male lover and is about to have sex with a wome ("this is the first and last time he says") and thats why a man appears as he does at the end cuz he knows

  • @narutohume The lamb is actually the signature of the video's director. If you watch any videos that came out around the same time you can see that same lamb hidden in the videos. I believe Yellowcard actually has a video it can be seen.

  • boring

  • @2:24 Michelle Nolan @2:55 Adam Lazzara

  • @iimdudits07 Not even close, punk.

  • @acceptancerockedmyso HA! oh please.

  • @iimdudits07 @ 2:24, that looks absolutely nothing like Michelle Nolan and @2:55, it's actually Justin Beck from Glassjaw.

  • @acceptancerockedmyso im not saying it was actually them, its supposed to be people in place of them, obviously the actual people arnt going to be in the video

  • Shit when did they go mainstream?

  • I'm diggin' the bass line

  • You know, this song could have one of two meanings: The commonly accepted "guy loses his v to a girl when he's not ready" one, or it could be interpreted as a gay guy having sex with a girl just to be accepted by society.

  • really cool fact: Justin Beck of Glassjaw 2:52 to the end

  • this is a pretty good song

  • video is so strange

  • try and remember the song name just before a fight.. glory fades, but a criminal record doesn't.

prevents you getting in a whole world of shit :P

  • @MegaSegaDaniel Wow. That just might b the most bitch-ass thing I've ever heard. Grow a pair already

  • @TripleA2146

So you would go to jail to prove your maniliness and non- "bitch-ass"ness? Have fun with that

  • i think its about him losing his v card to a girl he liked a lot when all he wanted was to love her and stay in a long realtionship with her then he ended up getting addicted to sex and it started to take over

  • Comment removed

  • i love this song, one reason being cause the video has always sparked some discussion about what the deep meaning is :L

  • these guy are amazing i still a shirt that my friend got at a concert and i stole from him

  • great song folks

  • Know the feeling

  • There all sheep... sheeple... baaaaaaaaah lol.

  • this is a mind fuck. I think I got one part down. the last person to enter the bar is the person in control. I don't understand the message. maybe that we all try to be and do what people tell us to much. and be more independent

  • @jansenryan3 Its about Jesse falling for a girl and losing his v card to her, later finding out that she only wanted him for sex. All the people in the bar are those she used. The one at the end is the next person. Its basically saying the he was used and toss'd aside like many before him.

  • this will never get old.

    ever.

  • Anyone else from Levittown that grew up with Lacey?

  • I still cannot believe what a perfect band Brand New is.

  • Sexiest. Man. Ever.

  • Jesse Lacey could beat the shit out of Chuck Norris

  • Damn, I haven't seen this video since I was 14...I am now 21 and I still think Jesse Lacey is one of the sexiest men alive :D!!!!

  • @TinaB1990 I totally agree.

  • @TinaB1990 I can't believe it's been that long...crazy. I remember when I first saw this too.

  • thumbs up for marc webb

  • Love the song, but this is terrible quality o_o

  • ever since the first time i saw this video i thought it was a mind fuck and i still think that today.

  • I can't believe I just saw this video! I love Brand New, and I just saw this! Shame on me for not seeing this amazingness sooner!

  • This beat is so catchy. Such a good song.

  • people like the guy at the end of the video needs to stop scaring people thats why pple hate you lol. just bekind. :) peaceful and merciful. tying truth and kindgoodness around your neck for God and man

  • this guy play pearl drums

    ?

  • That male figure at the end of the video is girl's dad telling Jesse that he's dead

  • @eloelization Hahahahaha, loved that comment.

  • 1:57 - That's exactly how I imagined Jesse Lacey would throw a table.

  • does anyone know which video brand new made where there's one part where there's a girl in a tub and a boy is trying to comfort her \m/

  • its not just about loosing virginity:p its about being in control by lust n your bad desires!

  • The bridge part of this song (the instrumental after the second chorus) is my favourite piece of music of all time. It just perfectly captures the atmosphere and energy of youth in one simple riff.

  • this is a good end to my evening.

  • love it !

  • the guy that directed this video also directed vids for yellowcard and AFI (among many others, as well as the movie 500 days of summer and the upcoming spider-man reboot (fun facts for you kids)

  • bass in yo face

  • they copying him or is he copying them? MINNDD FUCCCKKKK

  • Singer is so hot, I remember back when I seen this I thought he was gonna grab his crotch 2:12

  • I totally forgot about this song! :') ah brings back memories!

  • This shit is the mad note.

  • Long Island represent.

  • The qaulity...whyyyyyy

  • Anyone know the meaning behind the video? It's awesome :P

  • These lyrics do what the Bible doesn't do for me.

  • win amp win

  • I've seen this performed live. Okay, I hardly knew of Brand New at the time, they were a support slot, and teir set was like 20 minutes or something ridiculously short, but I was still there! FEAR ME!

  • i always wondered what is video this song, i knew it was brand new and im just happy its this one i love this song!!!!

  • @AgentMonkey676 your comment made no sense at all lol.

  • Truly amazing. Haven't heard this for about 6 years. Amazing lyrics

  • @loserlea1324 What does that make you? A super fag?

  • @DanteInferno87 Ultra Mega Super fag.

  • Who is this God you speak of? Jesse Lacey is the only God in my mind!

  • @em1lyj0 I so know what you mean

  • Brand New have never been a teen band. Even their first album, while angsty sounding, is incredibly clever lyrically. Possibly the most underrated band in history.

  • i recited this to my drama class in 9th grade. i miss my brand new shirt with the astronaut monkey too. =[ it looked so nice with my red vans. OHHH THE DAYSSS. ='[

  • i recited this to my drama class in 9th grade. i miss my brand new shirt with the astronaut monkey too. =[ it looked so nice with my red vans. OHHH THE DAYSSS. ='[

  • Cannot wait for them in Feb!

  • Can someone explain this video to me?

  • @Fanchus The song is about a nervous boy losing his virginity to a more experienced girl. So, and this is a complete guess, it could be that Jesse in this video is in control until he meets the girl, at which point he's the one being manipulated.

  • @Meteddica Ohhh it makes a lot of sense! Thanks!!

  • @Meteddica i think its about control and manipulation in general. its no fun to find out you don't control your own feelings.

  • @Meteddica I always thought it was about how a guy takes advantage of a girl, but just the other way around. Listen the the lyrics again but just imagine a woman saying it. I may be wrong. Just a thought.

  • lol the video is just cool.

  • so is this song about a guy getting raped by a girl? that's what im get out of it yeah?

  • @12Jackman12 Not really rape. He just wants a relationship, but the girl wants sex.

  • Shame there isnt better quality of the song that would be amazing

  • this song turns me on.

  • This was my all time favorite song I could nvr forget the part when they scream "die young and save yourself" I've lived by those words for years

  • I wouldn't call it 'screamo'. Anyway, awesome song and one of my favourite music videos. The ending gives me chills every single time.

  • Look at Jesse just tryin to get at some tittay!

  • When screamo used to be good and not a sell-out!

  • whatever the fuck that meant

  • good song but the music sometimes covers up the singer. i wish it had better qualtiy. the only reason i can really tell what the lyrics are is when i look at the actual lyrics

  • @kylekoolkid

Eh it's intentional. I like it the way it is.

  • In love with this music video:)

  • im 13, i have been listening to brand new because of my family for as long as i can remember. all i know if this was my favorite song when i was like 10, and now i actually know the meaning of this song. aahhaha. i wonder what my teaches thought when i would sing this walking around school...

  • Jesse Lacey looks like Andrew Garfield

  • this video still trips me out....i love it

  • hahaha, this song was my 16-19 period. at 25 very cool to sit back and reflect. Brand New, TBS, The Used, Thrice, and hundreds more bands saved me from being a very down, bitter young man. It's funny the way "Emo" kids were percieved back then. I never wore much black. I used music like this more as a realisation that i wasnt the only one in the world feeling shit or hurt because of girls. Yes, the "Scenester" appeared and all of a sudden if you didnt wear girls jeans and a headband you sucked..

  • and that made me sick. Pure music that used to live at places like the tote, the arty, Goo, The Corner Hotel, etc (Yes im a melbourne boy) basically our underground scene, started poping up at our big stadiums. The first of these i remember was the taste of chaos tour in 04. SOTY, FFAF, and a couple of more who escape me suddely became in, Kisschasy, Gyroscope, The Hot Lies and BCE started to add a zero to their former $10 show ticket. It commercialised, but i will always remember the good days

  • @MillysPa god yes i remember being 15 or 14 and my sister bought me a ticket to BCE for my birthday haha soo cheap, best days <3 i only found out who bce were cause someone left a burnt copy of their demo in the computer i was using in the film and tv room at school :)

  • 44 people need to die young and not worry about saving themselves

  • Btw I always thought this song was about rape, but reading the comments I'm lost, can somebody clear up the meaning behind this masterpiece?

  • @Fooblink41 I met Craig from The Golden Age of Radio and he is really good friends with these guys. He told me it is about rape. But, just as every other song in the world, people are welcome to their own interpretations:p.

  • @burgett3shooter oh cool! i was right yay haha, the lyrics gave me the chills the first time i payed attention to it

  • Lol conversation I'm having right now with my girlfriend

Me: I'm addicted to brand new again

    Dani: is that a drug?

    Me:yeah it's alot like heroin

    Dani: oh, is it cheap?

    Me: ranges free-99¢ a hit.

  • "Breaking down in bars and bathrooms" - Taking Back Sunday, No I in Team.

That seems exactly like what he's doing in this music video. weird.

  • 44 people must be deaf.

  • Awesome song!!! One amazing video too.

  • Can anybody please tell me why the video version features an extra vocal track of Jesse singing "Die young and save yourself" over the scream from the album version?

  • @ryanxdavey It's in the studio version as well.

  • I love his bass line, its so simple and sounds so cool!

  • is the guy at 2:58 supposed to be John Nolan???

  • Its really just called sic transit gloria

  • love at first listen!!!

im gonna go put this song and listen to it until i get sick of it YA!

  • This whole album brings me back to when I was 15/16. Perfect time for it to come out as I was into this type of rock/punk stuff. Love this band, haven't really gotten into their newer stuff as much, can someone tell me if it's worth it/as good as the old stuff?

  • @eos1789 Yes!!! so worth it!

  • @eos1789 their more recent material seemed to divide the fans. you'll either love it or hate it. i'm not sure about the one that came out a few years back (the one with the kid and the random guys in halloween costumes) but i did like their most recent, daisy. besides a few tracks, it's a very ballsy and raw album. hits hard and quick. alot of people hated it, but i don't know what the hell they expected, they always change their sound with every album..

  • I tried fuckin ages to find out what this song is called. thank god for scuzz

  • i love brand new!! there amazing but the old stuff is where its at for me.i know this may make some peeps mad, but also if you guys get a chance i would really really appricate it if you could check out my band.i think we are close to something like this and i know that brand new fans are the best because they know that special it factor this type of music has.anways just search THE ELECTRIC SHOES-YOU AND YOUR BOYFRIEND and its the one with 2 kids in the pic. Thanks and i hope you like it

  • <3 2:12

  • Oh, Jesse Lacy. -3

I forget how awesome this video is.

  • Jesse Lacey is just one of those guys that men don't even have to be gay to fall in love with.

  • @JacobLGeorge that was sooooo gay

    LOL

  • @JacobLGeorge faggot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • man, this remeinds me of good ol fuse days

  • @copedipper14 When they actually played good music

  • @copedipper14 yea i know i miss it lolz dish network took it away

  • @copedipper14 THATS MY FIRST THOUGHT WHEN I HEAR THIS SONG!!! WATCHING OLD FUSE BEFORE HOPING ON THE BUS TO MIDDLE SCHOOL HAHAHAHA

  • reminds me of when my "best friend" raped me. he's 17, i'm 15. i was drunk, lonely, wanted to cuddle. he kept touching me, i kept telling him to stop. aha. music really is the only thing that gets me through this shit.

  • It's amazing how well I can relate to this song. Being used for sex SUCKS, even if you're a guy.

  • reminds me of a salvia trip

  • @longcatisloooooong the quiet things faborite song

  • THE MOVIE "RUSHMORE" reminds me of soooo many good bands and great songs!! thumbs up if you agree

  • Fazia tempo que eu nao ouvia essa hein...

  • ahh 2003 i remember you so well. i was 8th grade and i wanted to be in this band so bad. here i am 8 years later, and i still want to jam with these guys haha

  • ...Michael Stipe?

  • who is at the end of the music video making the you are gonna get slit gesture?

  • Doesn't make any sense to the song, but okay.

  • @toolther Agreed

  • 2:11 - 2:19 = Omgsexy.

  • Comment removed

  • there is no better music than brand new on this planet!

  • Possibly one of the greatest videos ever, the song itself is amazing and the video, I don't know why I like it as much as I do I just find it amazing. Brand New is an amazing band.

  • Isn't the vocalist looks Morrissey? :D

  • Great song great vid, 2nd song I ever heard by Brand New (first was Archer's bows have broken) and knew I would love the band from the moment where he goes

'He whispers that he loves her but she's probly only looking for ssss......so much more than you can ever give'

  • HOLY FUCK I HAVENT HEARD THIS SONG IS FUCKING FOREVER! ITS SO GOOD

  • check out my band please guys! /watch?v=y4YG0zLbiKU&feature=channel_video_title

  • I also like how the whole song makes sense, and doesn't distract itself onto another subject that makes no sense. the whole song is about the one thing.

  • Ilike how he turns it around on the girls.

  • The song is a commentary on the thought process of a young guy losing his virginity, and it's pretty close to what actually goes on in a guy's head. The idea of "this is what I'm supposed to, this is what everybody tells me I'm supposed to do, why does it feel so weird?" Fantastic wordplay that actually tells a story, very rare amongst the years of autotune and crap pop

  • I still love this album. I'm 30 and WAYYYYY too old for teen angst but this whole album illustrates much of a teen's inner dialogue so clearly it makes me feel 16 again. Where the F%$k was this band when I WAS 16!? Lol.

  • @persephone4680 The lyrics are deep and can be relatable to anyone at any age. Also, musically, Deja Entendu flows from song to song better than any album i've ever heard. It is a classic.

  • @persephone4680 I hear that.

  • @persephone4680 hehe me too!! i'm now 26 and i could have sworn that they wrote albums after following me around in high school, memories just flood me when i listen to Brand New of all the unnecessary high school dramas!

  • @persephone4680 how ironic.. and i was coming here to say how much it seemed that they had matured with this album from their first. i mean hell yeah it's angsty, but i feel anyone at any age could feel this angst...

anyways, this video is crazy. there's something haunting about it that just gives me the chills. and i can't believe it's been 7 years since i first saw it

  • @persephone4680 well you would have been 19 when the band came out..........I was in my early 20's and I thought they kicked ass then and I still do at 33!!!!

  • @persephone4680 Being born

  • @persephone4680 lol, being 16 like we were at the time. Well, they are a little older but teenagers at the time themselves...lol
