It's easy to say the vocals are crap, and they are. But I don't think a lot of people realise how much stage fright got to Bernard and the extent to which he cared about himself when up there in front of people.

You clearly don't know shit. All Madonna does is sing and dance, she's a pop singer who rely heavily on others composition and mostly marketing. Bernard Sumner does a lot more, even more than most artists out there. His lyrics are sometime bad, but can be very good too. His guitar playing is good to bad, but it is natural and it flows. His real talent though is the part where YOU don't see and too dumb to realize. Sumner is an excellent music composer, arranger and producer.
