Put on a trenchcoat and fight some conspiracies

Get experience and level up abilities

Will you pick rifles or computers

Don't pick swimming because it's fairly useless

    It's a shooter and a role-playing game

The levels are ugly and everyone looks the same

We're not the same Ion Storm that made DaiKatana

Our games are good and they stay on schedule

  • I'm more concerned about Savage

    Unatco?

    Savage

    Unatco?

    No, Savage

    U-U-Unatco?

    Savage

  • God, I love the part at 3:26

  • Old men warning, warning!

  • Deus Ex. Whenever you mention it...Someone re-installs it.

  • is it bad that half the time i hear the main theme, i hear yahtzee singing over it? :P

  • @corwinph

Nobody can unhear that song, because everyone learned it by heart at some point

  • @13x1x20 yeah, i guess thats true, most recently heard it at the end deus ex human revolution XP

  • I hope Deus Ex II doesn't go down like

    A Bomb!

  • @Rincewind211

Uh... It kinda did. Invisible War wasn't a bad game in its own right... but they just.. dumbed it down too much(gameplay-wise) to make it a worthy successor to DX. On the other hand, I, for one, am very happy with how DX:HR turned out.. it -was- a bit short.. but maybe this Missing Link DLC I just d/led(but have yet to play) will help flesh it out a bit more. Then again, maybe your Deus Ex II comment was totally sarcastic.. =x

  • @funkmasterfrex Invisible War was a bad game in it's own right for a few reasons, I'd say. The lighting engine's programmer left half-way through, so it's buggy and not optimized.

There's also the ability to walk out of the world's boundries and the whole 'closes and reopens the game every time you go into a new area.'

  • man we so need a remake of this game!!

  • When I played mass efect IT reminded me this game, and I was like very nostalgic T_T

  • This game has a SOUL

  • why why why have they not made more games like this one? it's like.. there are 100 fps released every year and they're all run and gun boring bullshit. hopefully the new deus ex is a return to form.

  • @DaveC86 the answer is simple. Consoles have ruined gaming forever, there are simple and complicated reasons for this, money is the simple answer, and complicated reasons surrounding the stupidity of the end user is one of the omplicated reasons.

  • deus ex gabs schon früher?? oO

  • @Christian199157

  • Probably the game on top of all those which made me love the pc gaming.

  • I only played Deus Ex through for the first time a few years ago on the PS2. Now I have it on the PC too. One of the most epic masterpieces of video gaming fucking ever made! :)

  • Well only game I keep playing 10 years after. It says it all.

This game got a really special place in my heart no other game ever succeeded to.

Music awesome by the way. :)

  • @dunedain101 i play it too :) 10 years after...

  • playing through it for the first time now, great game!

  • Yea, Deus Ex is awesome. So good I biought it 4 times.

  • Every time someone ask me what the best game I've ever played it I say Deus Ex. I don't know why until I start up the game, hear a music piece of it or watch a video of it... then I'm instantly reminded of it's greatness.

  • i dunno about DE2...

The first 10-15 mins was alright but from then on no matter what 'choice' you make there's always somone on your ass moaning at you.

You contantly feel your doing domething wrong.

It was also buggy as fuck.

Actually nah. it was no good.

Eidos should have done what Monolith did with FEAR and made a totally revised sequal that paid no attention to the 'extraction point/ perseus mandate' etc stuff.

  • all cool guys from de 1 that is :P

  • For some reason when i tried to play deus ex 2, i didnt like it!!! so never played it. Now im waithn for Deus ex 3....

  • yea and in deus ex 2 all cool guys were dickless faggots ;/

  • I wanted to play as terrorist. indivisual payin 50% tax and big company payin 2% tax is wrong. I hope our irl world wont be like that .

  • damn all they got to do with deus ex 3 is copy the original with a similar storyline and make the graphics better and bigger maps....thats about all it needs.

  • I. Love. This. Game. I completed it on hardest 3 times:)

  • woot i like that game but am stuck on the part...btw i like the song

  • Gotta love the game's music.

  • and the game itself!

  • yeah, after Deus EX redefines a hard core game after all you can go in guns blazin in the begging, you have to act stealthy, and besides it's the best classic FPS to play and hey, if you cant buy the cd, torrent it.

  • yup hardcore to the max

  • and cant wait for Deus Ex 3 if they make it like the original with some new things.

  • Yeah, i hope they bring walton simons somehow in the story, keep the skill system, and hire the guy who composed the original music!

  • meeting a young Walton Simons pre-enhancements would be kickass, but then you know wouldnt be able to kill him :(

  • Killing a clone of him perhaps? He could have a clone to test the technology to see if he won't have side effects.

  • Maybe you can kill the pre augmented Simons and MJ12 augments him to bring him back to life.

  • i alslo like that game

  • There's never been a better game than Deus Ex even to this day.

  • Seconded.

  • Thirded.

  • Forthededdd.?

  • fithededed :)

  • I come back and +1 that comment everyday.

  • fifth'd

  • SIX'eD!@

  • SEven'ED :P

  • eighthed

  • eighted o.o

  • Ninthded

  • @Typowned Except of Diablo 2 you are absolutely right!

  • @Typowned System SHock 2 is a pretty good competitor.

  • @Typowned I agree. Altho im a big fan of Doom and Half-life too. But there is no better action RPG game out so far. Lets hope Deus Ex 3 will rock.

  • man i love deus ex renegade cop doing what you want killing chinese with swords attacking greasels saving your brother from doom all the weapons the best qoute ever "im must be one ugly son of a bitch" then killing walton simons. one word deus ex

  • This game awesome behind measure. I'm surprised I haven't heard of this remix of the intro soundtrack.

  • iv'e got the deus ex cd soundtrack and it's just amazing.

  • no, its the unreal engine.

  • Why does it sound different?

  • Good storyline but i found the enemy AI to be weak in this game.

  • this game was made a long time ago. it was YEARS ahead of its time.

  • It definately had some great touches, but the AI in Half Life 1 was better as enemy troops would give supporting cover fire and Half Life 1 came out before Deus Ex. The AI in Unreal Tournament 1998 was also better despite that having a similar engine. Dont get me wrong though, I liked Deus Ex a lot.

  • Not to be picky, but you cant compare Deus Ex to Half Life :/ Half Life is a brilliantly made, highly polished FPS, where as Deus Ex is one of the most ambitious yet buggy RPG/FPS games ever. And enemy AI is only a very small part of a game, though yes its very weak in Deus Ex.

  • Everyone wants this game now. They keep asking where can I download it? or buy it? You can download it at PRISON. Buy it in a shop. A legandary game. So awsome. Great music, story, weapons. The start is the best for me, because you use stealth the most there. The rest is fighting but not too much. Some games is like 100 tunnels full of enemies, each tunnel takes 1/2 hour. Those'r annoying.

  • Did any of you guys ever try shooting Paul until he called you a "Jackass" and began firing? Hilarious stuff.

  • i did that som many times... its impossible 2 kill him!! lol

  • a simple console command can do that 4u

  • Bloody lovely game here. Got it on steam for about like $10.00. Beat it too :P

  • i bought it for .15 cents. lol.

  • If people sell that cheap, they don't know much about business. This game is really worth time, unless your copy is completely scratched, i won't believe you.

  • the first game - it was an original, i just copied it. have 3 copies just in case.

the second, i bought it for 5 ghruvni, thats about like 15 c. lol.

  • dude people need to make money. they make HUGE factories that produce pirate copies of different games in russia, even make the covers for the games. then sell them ANYWHERE exept in amerika. Old ladies sell you brand new pirate versions,on the street, half price, and its ALL legal in most countries in Europa. those pirate versions are really good quality, not like the ones found on the web. ( because the originals dont even make it into Europe. And i havent found DX1 or 2 in America yet)

  • This game is awesome. I played it in 2002 or so and is still one of the best games for me. The graphics cannot be compared with the technology we have today but the argument and the story of the game is amazing. And the fact that your actions will make the future missions to be different is great. I even made a CD with all the soundtracks of the game because I like them so much.

  • the people that made the first are making the third game, they say its a remake, kinda, only with legendary technolody. since DX2 wasnt made by the people making DX1 and DX3 the game DX3 has (plz plz plz ) has to be better than the first. i hope. because if it is, then it will be the best in the world for centuries lol

  • well your statement about the second game isnt entierly true, alot of ppl from the first worked on the second(not all of course) the problem with that project was that there was a lot of trouble revolving that game, so it was kindoff unlucky

  • ya maybe ur rite. thats ust what i saw on some channel when they showed the making of games, and DX1 so yea...

  • ME TOO MATE ME TOO...deus ex was ...legendary i loved so much....i hope 3 will bring back the legend that was deus ex....AHHAH i sound like a sad ass...anyhoo

  • Wow...played this game about...twenty times and it keeps on getting better every time I play it . Word.

  • you should definetly get dx2 it is extremely non linear. u can work 4 which eva group u want and different events happen according 2 ur actions.the theme is timeless and voice acting is superb

  • thank god you think dx2 is good i see everyone saying it sucks but i have it and it kicks ass!

  • Deus ex 2 was a brilliant game but due to the unfairly high expectations of being a sequel to deus ex it flopped. It would have been better off just called invisible war.

  • well technically it was sorta like a sequel to Dues ex considering you get to see the main character at the end of the game and get some sort of explanation for something complicated (sorry its been a WHILE since i played it if you get me)

  • there are some really helpful glitches in the pc version considering skill points. I've actually managed to up ALL of my stats to master level. When whatshisname scientist dude thanks you for saving his daughter, if you have a full inventory, you can keep talking to him to get skill points

  • And there is another one earlier in the game. The NYC US Navy Harbour. There is a walkway from the storage building to the Ammunitions Bunker. 30 Skillpoints every time you open the Bunker door on that walkway...:D

  • Good to see a video on the music of Deus Ex and the .UMX system. That was very innovative for it's time, a precursor to the development of interactive audio in games nowdays. This is one of the best games I have ever played, the atmosphere is unparalled. If you want to experience the music download a program called MadTracker and just use it to open the .umx files. You can jump to the different "emotive" sections in the track easily e.g. normal/battle/game over etc...

  • I agree, I even made a remix with that program. :)

  • Best thing was the ps2 couldn't handle the sheer might of the game and lagged like fuck in heavy battle scenes :P

  • I seriously can't understand why anyone would play such a majestic game on anything other than a PC!

Especially shameful since DX2 Invisible War was originally developed for XBox - which shows badly, as I saw in the demo version. I'm really not sure on whether to buy it or not.

  • You can probabbly pick it up second hand for really cheap like I did a long time ago, the game really failed in every aspect to quench the Deus Ex fans thirst, it's probabbly worth having a look around torrent sites for the game if you can't pick it up.

  • Well, my expectations weren't that high to begin with. Maybe I'll look for it on Ebay or something..thanks for the tip nonetheless. :)

  • one of the most beuatiful games

  • Uh, is this the PS2 music or what? The original Impulse Tracker music rox much more.

  • Yes it does that's why I uploaded all of the music that contained more than one sub track!!

  • Wow... looking at the graphics, we have come a long way in the past seven years haven't we :-)

  • graphics wise, sure, gameplay wise? not really.

  • @EndemicAnomalies graphics wise gameplay wise BUT not story and plot :D

  • @EndemicAnomalies I agree - though there's more than one way to skin a cat; for other genres times have moved on. However; Deus Ex's gameplay for that kind of game is unmatched!

  • @tsujigiri15 Worryingly; I appear to be qualified to talk about deus ex. When I heard the intro music I was able to recite pretty much the entire conversation, using half remembered musical cues. Misspent youth much?

  • Tip for all Deus Ex Gamers...

Some people are currently doing a mod for Deus Ex 1.

I only dont know if they only change graphics or the hole game

    offtopicproductions.

    com/

    hdtp/index.php

I dont know when its finished but I hope it doesnt take much longer

  • I know about that mod, but it's been in development for sooo long.. here's hoping they finish it.

  • love, love forever.

  • God bless this game. Deus Ex for life. I talk only of the PC version, of course.

  • This brings back so many memories on this game!! one of my favorites ever.

  • those games where all was possible. so much beautiful for the new gen!

  • this game should be remade with everything the same apart from more decisions and better graphics

  • Hell yes and it should be like the PS2 one on PC with better controls than the PS2 version. Hopefully Deus Ex 3 will own unlike Deus Ex: Invisible Wars which just Sucked.

  • DX:IW had an alright plot line but i get the impression that they rushed it. Universal ammo? whats the deal with that?

  • yeah invisible war is crap

  • great game, but not very interesting video

  • yeah i know, but it should be obvious that it's about the music, not the video. i just downloaded the first whoknowshowmany pix from the deus ex walkthrough, added them, and saved the vid.

  • anybody know where i can download the music?

  • if you got the game, i suggest using XMPlay, freeware.

otherwise, there are always torrents, but the quality is best with XMPlay, just open the umx files.

  • just google for it, there's lots of (legal) places to download it from. the complete dx soundtrack was made free to download several years ago by the original composers. same deal with the dx2:iw soundtrack, you can download that one legal & for free from the official gamesite.

be sure to look for the remastered soundtrack, it's much better quality.

  • this game mode was a stealth and non-lethal takedowns...

  • soundtrack sounds different to mine. lol

  • it's the remastered version ;)

  • A real challenge? Don't kill anyone, don't knock anyone out, sneak past them all. Yes it's possible.

  • Yes, its funny. That is what makes this game so good from the others. You dont have to kill. Well... Some agents you must kill, exept if you bug it

  • Yeah, knocking everyone unconcious on Liberty Island rather than killing them is fun and worth-while. Your brother and Sam Carter appreciate it anyway.

  • he took the crossbow? bad idea!

  • A good idea is to take the GEP Gun, then kill a terrorist holding a crossbow, and the one terrorist who has a sniper rifle.

  • Precisely. By the way, if anyone wants to play a challenging game, they should definately try for a melee character. Its more enjoyable..coming up behind a guy and knocking him out with the baton. Don't lose any ammo..usually instant deaths too. I killed everyone on liberty island with a crowbar, it was a challenging but fun experience

  • I though it was way much easier with melee. The dragons tooth will pwn everything later in game

  • Very cool!
