I'd heard some negative things from people who'd seen her in Vegas a few years ago, so I was somewhat relieved to heard this. No, she doesn't sound like she did 40 years ago-- I don't look like I did 40 years ago either! (I'm 60 now, and I know Connie has a good 5 years on me). Our voices get deeper as we get older. There's no getting around that. Connie has to adjust for that, which can't be easy. But she does it quite well. Adding different songs better suited to her current voice would help

I am surprised by the negative comments and wonder have they ever seen Connie in concert, I will bet not.....If they had I am sure they would change their minds........Forget the illness, etc, this lady is a true entertainer who works hard to entertain her legions of fans, new and old. for the person who had the chance to see Connie live and chose not to,I am sorry for you, your loss I'm afraid. these videos are not a true reflection of how great this lady is live........seeing her live is.

Very nice comment. Thank you! She sings or sang in as many as 5 languages. Not many true stars do that. There are not many people left from the 50's and 60's who perform for us. Once they are gone it it's our loss.

I am the person who commented on having the opportunity to see Connie Francis, live in concert, at the former Westbury Music Fair, and chose not to after reviewing the recent videos on this and other sites. After reading the subsequent remarks about my post, calling me out for expressing my opinion, still a right for U.S. citizens btw, I gave this matter more thought. Perhaps the quality of this video and other recent ones uploaded were not representative of the way she sang...

...that the mikes on the camcorders were not of the caliber that could accurately reproduce the quality of her voice as posters here have raved about. I gave it the benefit of the doubt and purchased 2 tickets to see her with Neil Sedaka. At the concert, after waiting 1/2 an hour after the time the show was supposed to start, Neil Sedaka came out and announced that she suddenly took ill and would not be performing. Kittensonly will bear me out on this fact. Sorry, I tried to see her.

Sorry she did not perform. she previously sang at a Neil Sedaka benefit and out of th emany performwers of the evening only she and Clay aiken received dtanding ovations. last weekend, she gave phenomenal performances in PA and NJ. the reviews were great. Below is a review.

There's only one thing better than attending a Connie Francis concert -- and that would be attending TWO Connie Francis shows on consecutive evenings. Fans who attended one or both of Connie's back-to-back shows this month in Rahway, NJ and Easton, PA had their socks knocked off by Connie. She was in wonderful voice, sang in five languages and Connie looked gorgeous! Cont. below.

Review Cont.: Connie received numerous standing ovations throughout her shows. Fans came from around the world to see her, and Connie acknowledged them during her shows. After an emotionally charged and powerful performance of "Brother, Can You Spare A Dime?," Connie graciously thanked the audience for coming in such severe economic times and showed her humility. She remarked that dimes don't come too easily these days, and thanked the audience for spending their dimes to come to see her.

I am surprised at all the bickering I've read here. Of course CONNIE doesn't exactly sound like she did as a very young girl on all those M-G-M Records but it's still nice that she can perform occasionally and she's a true legend and always acknowledges her many fans -and you can count me among them whether she's in great voice or not - she'll always be America's sweetheart.

I always feel a bit sad when these singers join the "old gold" circuit, as so many of them are past it, and rely on doing old hits. Of course the voices can't be as good as when they were young.

I did see Connie Francis in San Francisco recently, unlike you, who only imagines seeing her. And actually, considering her age, health and all she's been through, her voice was simply amazing. And in fact the buzz throughout the crowd after the concert was that nobody could believe she was that good.

I had the opportunity to purchase tickets to see Connie with Neil Sedaka (who wrote "Where The Boys Are) this summer. After seeing this video and another recent one of her performance, I decided not to go see her. While it is the very rare individual who could still perform at the level they were at 50 years ago, Connie was the best in the world then, now it is sad to hear a shadow of the voice she once had. Audiences still seem to come and adore this once great performer.

candaquit- i was able to meet her after the show. It was a total fluke. My wife and I stayed at our seats until everyone left the stage. I went upstage and talked to her director (drummer) and he said try going backstage which I did. I knocked on the door was greeted by several people, they acted like they were glad to see me,I went over to the corner and talked to Connie for about 3 minutes. Gave heer a kiss on the cheek and left. The people in the room with her were so nice and understanding.
