I consider it one of the most awesome things in my life that I was flying to Dutch Harbor while this was happening and got a bird's eye view of it for over 10 minutes.
Flew past January 12 the day before this time lapse. It was steaming along maybe even a bit stronger than here, but without the pants shitting explosion near the end.
What bugs me to this day is everyone on the plane watched it for maybe a minute and then went back to reading or sleeping or headphones or whatever.....
