@triplerider69 nope. the batteryless efi is 2nd pull guaranteed. this sled ALWAYS starts 2nd pull except when you use too much fogging oil lol....the older efi (ZR580) is 3 pulls max.
when i raced my 700 against a zr 600 efi i was about 2-3 sled lengths ahead until the 600 topped out and i kept accelerating.
keep in mind my sled still isnt jetted correctly, its way too rich. so it was a bit sluggish at takeoff. and i raced a fuel injected sled that has the optimal mixture all the time.
ive got a 95 zr 700 i am restoring. how fast you think itll do? btw it has got alot of performance shit in it. i rebuilt the motor. put new wiesco high compression pistons in. boyesen reed. recoated the jugs and teflon coated the pistons for heating purposes. also has got dual MBRP exhaust on it. 96 studs and a ripsaw tack. what would you think itll do? people are saying to me around 105-110. that sound about right?
with the mods you got you are pushing the HP from the stock 110 to at least 120-125. maybe more with your setup. but keep in mind that the 700 motor makes most of its power in the bottom end, your 0-60 and 60-100 will be alot faster. i would do some clutch work too if you want to get the power to the ground better. but your top end speed is limited by the RPM of the engine, so to get more out of it you will need different gears in the chaincase.
oh. and i am going to use it for just a trail sled and drag race it on the canal. shit like that. this one section of ythe trail by me goes on the hudson river canal and it goes for 8 miles of just wide open canal. so ill be racing it. also my local race track that i drag race in the summer with my race car they hold snowmobile drag racing during the winter. it is really neat to watch. they just have snow on the track and we drag race on that. i have a 2003z 440 that i just kinda
that i just kinda use as a trail sled. and im always on the trail like every day after school and weekends. so i plan on trail riding and racing with it. i figure itl be good compition and bragging rights to my friends lol
gotta love the sound of an arctic cat snowmobile

also remember the 700 doesnt have apv so it will be a bit sluggish of the start not likt the 600 efi

@dirtbikesnsleds only 600's '01 and up have APV valves. this 600 is a '98, first year of the 600 twin, so no powervalves on it.

well a stock 700 will do at least 105-110.

ok thank you for the help. what gears would you reccomend in the chain gear case? also i do have some clutch work done. ive got a 5200 stall in it
montecarloss85HO 2 years ago
honestly, im not sure what you should be running for gears. but i wouldnt go with a much higher ratio than stock.
your best bet is to ride it and see how you like the acceleration and top speed first.
what do you intend to use the sled for? drag racing, or a flat out lake racer?

Nice!! I'm thinking about 700ing my '97 580 efi, but money kinda sucks right now! If I find a good one I can afford, it'll go in!
