Not that it really matters cause I just remembered they didn't know where 'New Namek' was in this timeline so they had no access to the Namekian DBs anyways...

Goku and Kami were the only ones who knew about the time chamber. Goku didn't know about the Androids when he was alive so he couldn't say anything, and Piccolo was the first to die because he didn't know how powerful the androids were. When he died Kami died and so there was no one to tell them about the Time Chamber.

Mr Popo knew about the time chamber because he brought Tien, krillen, yamcha and Chouzu to the past during there training. Popo also trained Goku as a child. The chamber has and always will exist. The past can't be changed. So there is a time zone in which Goku dies, and one in which he's alive. Booth timelines have a past. And both involve Goku training under Mr. Popo....soo yeah. they always had a chance at victory.
