I just got this device and it works fine, originally it came with a 4G sim card @ a 2 yr service plan but I have it on my t-moble pay as you go service, web works fine no data plan needed.

@sitadriver yes it sounds very good - similar, of not identical audio hardware as the 5800 XpressMusic, which is a music phone. The N8 still sounds better.

I usually listen with Beyer Dynamic DT990 Pro or Etymotic Research hf2, which are really nice.

WiFi is not everything ! There are good package plans available for internet usage like 100MB for as little as 25 cents! ( at least in my country ;)

Plus the camera although Zeus Lens and 3.2 MP....its sensor is no good!

I sorry but this phone is a life saver. With a 10 dollar data plan and apps I need for school including google calendar. The only thing I can tell that is missing that you mentioned was WIFI because you said the cam on the 5800 sucked anyway. Why not mention if you have been hit by the economy and still want a smart phone with the $30 a month data plan for the whole family then this is your phone!!! This is a great in between networking phone!!! you did a good job just need to add some more...

The only similar device to the 5800 with T-Mo compatible 3G is the 5230 Nuron.
