Hi, this sounds so much like advice I received from my dad growing. He always told us to 1. not be afraid of asking because the answer will be either yes or no and to work with the answer and 2. if you don't / can't have, stay without until you can. I have taught my 3 kids that and it is thru God's many blessings that I am OK and happy. Nice to meet / see someone with a personality like mine, always smiling even when your down. Preach it sister, being a Christian is hard because the devil comes at you in every way especially through your weaknesses. Now when we go through trials is when our faith grows because as you said eventually God will remind you of all the things that he did before and how he brought you through and after a while you just shrug your shoulders and say well God you got this or devil whatever this is but a light affliction.

I think I know where that person is coming from. I'm Agnostic but I have a friend who has become a Christian and honesty says that it's one of the most difficult of choices she ever made. Not because of temptation but because of all the contradictions and the dark history of the Christian religion. She would often break down crying because she'll read a modern bible but then read a MUCH older version of it and she'd literally go crazy, since it damn near listed everything as being sinful.
