@Sparatan117 Google will let you edit the OS. You just can't easily reinstall the Google apps that are removed when you use a modified version. Android is notoriously annoying for app developers because of the rapid changes in the OS versions, which leads to the App Market, no matter how open it is, to be second rate to the app store.
And most importantly? I can install unlimited apps on iPhone. You can't install apps onto the SD card on an Android device. That BLOWS

i dont think that a multitasking feature would prove beneficial for the os.iphone never lags and most of the time it doenst even need to force quiting apps.i prefer my 3g like this stable and reliable.also i would never jail it cause it would be really vulnerable against viruses.

Well since ipad will support the original apps and the new apps in higher resolution, i'm guessing if the ipad manages to get jailbroken, it won't be a problem to get that to work.
Every1 shld use ProSwitcher (search it on Cydia). It uses a Palm Pre (webOS) style card system to switch and background applications. It works rly fast and i can have over 6 cards open at the same time on my 3G and it still runs fast ;-)
i guess apple restricts their customers more than any other company. I love apple's quality in terms of hardware and software but being restrictive and trying to profit off everything apple related, in my opinion is not a fair business strategy.
This is nice but the backgrounder application isn't accepted by Apple for a reason. Unlike Palm's WebOS, iphone OS isn't designed to multitask so battery consumption, performance etc... are factors to consider.
no jailbreaking doesn't do anything to change the normal settings unless u do something manually, if you press the home button once, it takes you to the home screen, if you press the home button twice, it launches the specific app you select in setting, if you hold the home button, you get voice control

I just tried downloading Backgrounder, it got to the script that says "setting up backgrounder and it locked up the phone... I cant even shut it off...tried to hold down the power button...nothing home button...nothing....any Ideas?

It works when your on the home screen. And it works in apps with some conditions, If you have enabled backgrounder, it will disable it then bring up VC, after it will bring it back to the app and you will have to hold the home button to reenable bgrounder
try "PandoraControls" in cydia, its an addon to backgrounder that gives you some cool features to pandora, it lets it run similar to the regular ipod app. The double click brings up a pandora screen, if you lock the screen it shows you what song its playing. Its pretty cool.
