Heikki has talent but I think he has shown that he is just a 2nd driver on a 2nd tier team. Every now and then he could take his Mclaren around in quick time but he lacks the consistency that Lewis, Kimi, Massa, Fernando, Vettle and maybe Webber have. And he hasn't shown the aggression to take the fight to the car ahead, pass and make it stick. Like Alonso, Lewis will always be better than his car but the Mclaren will always be better than Heikki. I'd love to see him on Force India.
Heikki will beat Hamilton. Heikki was in his first real tests with McLaren over 0,5 seconds faster than Hamilton was in Valencia test eventhough both drove 80 laps. Kovy will be 2 best in 2008, Kimi will again because he`s the most talented driver ever!
Finally Heikki made it to the podium and Peter Windsor was so happy to interview him in the official press conference. The Fuji rainmaster! Well, Lewis and Kimi were pretty good too.
Yes and Heikki had a dry weather set up on his car which was ill suited to the pouring rain.Furthermore Heikki got a drive through penalty. With a wet weather set up and without the drive thru he might have won the race.
Peter knows everything of drivers I am a fan of him on F1 racing magazine writings so master windsor knows motorsports to much so his new favorite driver will be heikki after the day on ROC 2004.
This race was soo tight, also 2006 was exciting, shame that Heikki had a problem with the car and lost to later crowned champion Ekström with 0.0002 seconds in the semifinals! (Wikipedia)
Btw, the race is (originally) held in memory of Henri Toivonen and Sergio Cresto. RIP
This YouTube link was recently highlighted in F1 Racing magazine, of which Peter Windsor (the commentator in this vid) is grand prix editor. Great mag, btw.

@pendellstock ROFLMAO. I like Heikki a lot but that's a bit hyperbolic. Eating your words much?

If Alonso goes back to Renault for 2008 and Heikki stays he will beat Alonso. If Hamilton can do it so can Heikki.

He started last in Montreal and ended up 4'th in a car which is far from being competetive. The McLaren,BMW and Ferrari are all better.

Well his F1 debut last week was not what everyone expected. I'm sure Malaysia will go much better.

He's right. Kovalainen is something special and this cemented his contract to become an official member of Renault F1.
