  • Kane one question, although i've become lean and the top two abs can be seen visibly but the last lower abs still can't be seen? I weigh 154 pounds and calorie intake: 274g protein, 200g carbs and 30g fats and wieghted abs and ground work mixture 4 times a week.

    Any suggestions guru?

  • @MrHeadwolf I think old school bodybuilding guru Vince Gironda used to say bodybuilding is 80% diet. While l wouldnt necessarily agree with that specific number, depending on your goals at the very least you need to have the right amount of calories. If i had to assign a number i would put it closer to 25-40 is diet.

  • Hey Timbahwolf, how much of your physique would you say is dependent on your diet alone? In other words, how much of the work is done outside of the gym or in the "kitchen" versus working out in some way?

  • You know it's a shame. I know alot of RD's and they don't look nearly as ripped. Diet is key..How do you know if your getting it right/doing it wrong?? Could be a HUGE waste of time. Any books/theory's you subscribe to?

  • @timbahwolf Try it with your elbows locked out - it will be harder, strengthen smaller muscle groups in your arms and shoulders, and make it harder for you to have an imbalance in terms of how much work one arm is doing in comparison to the other.

    Funny thing is that I was demonstrating cardio on a treadmill just last week on a local news channel and how important it is to do year round. The truth was that I haven't done any for 6-8 weeks . And in the last 4 months or even longer, the times I diddo  cardio have only been using recumbent bike because of plantar fasciitis.

  • @timbahwolf Holy crap I too have plantars fasciitis!!! What a royal PITA!!!!! I can't freakin run anymore! I understand that you should be able to work through it with lots of stretching, icing etc. but I have had it for like 2 years now. Ugh! Frustrating!!!

  • @thierrydc They're called dragon flags. A good way to strengthen yourself so you can do them is do negatives.  Start at the top and lower it and hold it at the bottom as long as you can. Make sure you use good form as it's better to do one with good form rather than 5 shitty ones.

  • @82Bdog Thanks man but i was talking about the last exercise where he is holding a bar and does situps into a standing position.Do you know how one develops enough strength to get into a standing position from a situp without using hands?

  • Timbawolf, that is awsome ... awsome ... awsome.  Thats a better demonstration than what Jacki Chan did in the movie Gorgeous. Incredible doesn't do it justice. Question from a want-a-be ... is this just a demonstration of your power and what your abs can do or are you saying that if you make a serious attempt at these exercises every day for a month of sundays, you can develop ab strength. I get the - do cardio to burn abdominal fat. I get that. Does it make sense to put in 30 min daily?

    I actually haven't done direct ab work in several months. I used to throw these movements in randomly on my conditioning days. I think I am going to incorporate ab and core work again when I do arms. If I were to do one single ab exercise, it would probably still be the hanging leg raise.

  • Great video man. I feel it's better to do an ab wheel rollout like that instead of bringing it back to your toes like some people do.
