but i think what he meant was that if you see a good person, in this case an extremely good person, you "see" God, because wherever is goodness there is God. I dont think he literaly meant you saw God.

He gives basically the same explanation as a pagan who says he does not worship the idol. Actually all he is doing is exposing the many contradictions and corruptions in the Bible.
