Oh. My. GOD! Thank you for this! I've been trying to get out of that damn vault for three days! Killing Elijah never worked for me because I couldn't get out fast enough before my collar exploded. There were other vids that showed people taking the short way out when they'd sneak around, before the force fields went up, but I could never do it. This was very helpful, thank you. I was getting so angry and frustrated I was about to just give up and delete my game all together lol. Thanks again. :)

If you dont have the 75 on explosives, repair, or science, there is another dialog where you can pass a check of 75 with a couple other skills (Lockpicking and sneak)

Once I got to the Maintenance Door I took my eye off for a second just like you did and it said I still needed a key for it. The only thing different is that I am playing it on the PC.

@Lynaugh1028 I had the same problem, but I kept looking at it and away, and it finally opened. My guess is that you have to wait until Elijah starts talking and the force fields go up before the maintenance door can unlock.

i put a stealth boy on and sat right in front of the forcefield that he comes through spamming the forward button and when he goes through I was able to pop into the room, until I watched this video I didnt realize the door with the key would open and thought I screwed up but I guess I found a shortcut

I followed your video as close as I could (didn't save before the vault, so the turrets stayed alive), picked up the gold bars, ran to the barrier, and dropped the gold bars. First time, they fell off the edge. Second time, they were too far away because the turrets messed me up. Third time, I attempted to destroy the closest turret first, and nothing happened, so I gunned it to the barrier. Awesome thing was, the barrier didn't deploy until after I ran through it. Got the gold and didn't fight.
