Gary Myrick & The Figures are reuniting to play The Roxy in LA, CA on June 22nd, 2010. Original members Gary Myrick, David Dennard and Jack White will appear along with new keyboard player Gina Myrick. They will perform songs from the first three CBS/Epic Records releases.
Yeah, we did three or four Myrick tunes in Jumpers (NorCal cover band- 79-82). He was one of our guitar heroes, but never caught on nationally. I always blamed Rick Springfield for stealing his drummer.
Dabtech, Gary told me several years ago, that at some point that strat was stolen from a rehearsal space. Unreal, someone ripped off Gary Myrick;s famous Guitar Baby. Sad.
Yeah I'll fess up, used to jam living disaster in our garage years ago. This song has one of the best solos ever. 80's new wave at its best, before that New Romantics shite took over.
Gary Myrick - playing Eighties music in the late Seventies. His musical style and attitude was original and innovative. I admit to ripping him off. Does anyone else want to fess up?
This takes me back...great band. Play this song at a fucking lame ass party and watch the girls become instantly half nekkid;)

Myrick's sound reminds me of early Tom Petty. Too bad, he didn't catch more fire!
