If you look at the original Teen Titans in 1965, they are simply the sidekicks of JLA members Batman (Robin), Aquaman (Aqualad), and The Flash (Kid Flash), as well as Wonderwoman's younger sister, Donna Troy. DC is basically the JLA, but Marvel is a diversity of groups- the Inhumans, Marvel Cosmic, Wakanda, X-men, etc.

Green Lantern corps are an off-shoot of the Green Lantern, same with Birds of Prey because two of them were ex-Batwomen. Doom Patrol are not a direct spin-off of a core JLA member, and so they can be classed as a stand-alone superhero group. But this raises the question, who's heard of the Doom Patrol? I doubt they'll be making a live-action film or cartoon series about them soon, on the scale of X-men, FF4, Avengers and JLA.

I agree 100%... Imo, the ONLY other Marvel brawler that can match (but still trails behind slightly) the original MSH in terms of that mystique you're talking about was X-men Children Of The Atom. MVC2 is a really good game, but even with the HUGE roster, HD graphics, and insane combos, it still lacks the magic those games had...the stages and music don't set the same tone as the ones in MSH and X-men COTA did-so the "comic book" atmosphere just isn't there and so the game isn't as memorable...
