  • HAha! Isn't it funny! The So-Called Fat Girl is the AVERAGE size of today 21st Century Girls! Skinny was a fad after all....lol

  • Rita's not fat. She's just got BACK! Too bad the overweight girls can't see the future and how RAGGEDY some of those cute girls are about 20+ years later. Haha!!!

  • What the hell is wrong with that gym teacher?? This reminds why I hated school!!

  • Some people should be shot for their hair style...

  • This is hilarious.

  • I always loved their house..in this!!! its fantastic!

  • Helen Hunt and I are the same age. As a boy I had a crush on her in this movie. 35 years later I probably have ever since.

  • Helen Hunt looks exactly like Leelee Sobeisky.

  • @july7nyc I thought the exact same thing!

  • Lmao @ the gym teacher who does nothing when the girl falls from the rope!

  • The mom's hairstyle is still pretty stylish today!

  • Rita is a good catch: a filthy rich family, hobbies she enjoys (needlepoint, spirituality, her interests in traveling, i.e. the school in England) and she has a prep school education. What man would sneeze at that?!!!!!

  • Has anyone else noticed that the girl playing Rita has the same, almost identical speaking voice of the actress Kitty Winn, who played Sharon inThe Exorcist?

  • Some men like curves! :o)

  • Very similar to Carrie in a way.

Thanks for sharing this movie that I didn't know it yet. You got a great channel btw. Discovering or "rediscovering" those 70s horror films are always a good thing for people like me who were still teenageers at that time :)

  • She's a slob, plain and simple. If she doesn't like being called "Tubbo", she should slim.

  • @5355vbxjbj76rvn Is this how your mommy taught you to lose weight? By calling you a fat ass piece of basement dwelling shit?

  • And why make so much breakfast, there enough for twice as many. Hell I love my food, I'd eat seconds when there is so much sitting there going cold lol, and probably to waste too.

  • Is that Linda Blair as the sister

  • @EnigmaNZ1 No, that's Helen Hunt.

  • WTF?? The girl in the orange-like dress in the beginning is one buffalo wing away from being the same size as the so-called "fat" girl!

  • @MzTJones80 You are 100% correct. She's got an ass on her that won't quit. LOL.

  • An "interesting" follow-up to an Oscar winning performance:

Lee Grant ("Shampoo" - Best Supporting Actress 1975)

  • I'm a fan of movies where bullies get punished.

  • chubby girls get revenge through psychic powers! I like it. the 70s produced many awesome TV horror flicks.

  • Helen Hunt .... waow she was young

  • I am being honest here, I would go out with Rita.

  • Her dad's a real douche, "second helping" and all, taunting her about her weight.

  • Lee Grant really gives a terrific performance. As noted... the house is beautiful. There is some good, intelligent dialogue between the parents, which raises this above other fare. Glad I found it ;)

  • This is not a bite off of Carrie. Sissy Spaesack didn't film Carrie until 1976 some time. I found it to very funny that the teacher pressed the stopwatch after confirming that she was on the ground. Great old school movie!

  • Thanks for posting Denise! :) Wow, Helen Hunt looks so young. She must of been 14 or 15 when this movie came out.

  • funny, today her body type would be ideal.

  • shit look at the women now,

  • Thanks for posting! This was a very good takeoff on "Carrie" shown originally on NBC for the benefit of those like myself who were 2 young @ the time to see R-rated "Carrie".

I agree that Rita was NOT fat; she just wasn't svelte & would wager some of the nasty girls here were anorexic. I'm not in favor of killing anyone but that cocky, bitchy Jackie had it coming to her; someone like that I wouldn't weep @ their demise I hate to say.

  • I fucking LOVE this movie. And Helen Hunt is in it which is an EXTRA added bonus.

  • The mom is a lazy bitch!

  • Thank god black people educated the world that thick girls are sexy!!!! lol!

  • Lee Grant is such a great actress. She's covered serious drama, horror and films now considered camp classics such as Valley of the Dolls. It's hard to believe that she was 50 here.

  • Fat!? By todays standards she would be considered damn near skinny.

  • Thanks Denise for posting! I've always wanted to watch this :)

  • I grew up in the 80's and missed a lot of the 70's movies, thanks for uploading. 80's had some great movies but the 70's had some original movies.

  • Rita looks hot to me, I like em with something to hold on to; don't know where skinny came to be the thing, I like em inbetween...

  • There is nothing more cruel more vicious or more evil than teenage girls in a gang. Horrible beasts.

  • @TheSkylur44: These were the original 'Mean Girls'

  • Ahhhhhh, LOVED this movie and wish I had Rita's powers when I was in school.

  • Thank you for posting this.

  • That's quite a house. The family's got serious money.

  • SORT OF A RIP OFF.....

    of "CARRIE".......

    But I enjoyed watching this

    a long long time ago.....

The 1970s' had interesting tv movies,

better than the garbage on now.

  • @billyralphweeden this was long before carrie so how can this be a rip off of it??

  • @neshvirgo The original Carrie came out in 1976......

this came out in 1977......thats how its a ripoff.......

But still a very good made for TV movie.......

  • @billyralphweeden Except Carrie's mother was a religious fanatic who drove her daughter to insanity. Or sweet revenge - Depends on how you look at it - And how you stood in high school . . . I was a chameleon. Going from one group to group just for kicks. I was lucky enough to fit in hyst about everywhere. A good sense of humour, smart and my own money which I earned and spent like a drunken sailor. Only ones who didn't want me were the jocks (except the gay ones). and I was fine with that.

  • @SeanMBryans

    hhahaaha!!! LOL !!!

    <3

  • @SeanMBryans holy overshare batman

  • it's the girl from James

     at 15, no?

  • That girl's supposed to be fat? She's merely curvy

  • @CharlestonChica I couldn't agree more.

  • @CharlestonChica back in those days she would have been considered fat. these days 1/3 of all kids are really fat, so no one would notice.

  • @CharlestonChica

Yes she is fat. This movie is from an age before people started to use euphemisms to spare the frail egos of lardasses.

In America she probably would be considered normal given how many fatfucks make up their population.

  • @nopp0x00: And how are things in your neck of the woods, asshole? I suggest you get a hold of a book called 'The End Of The Obesity Epidemic' and learn the REAL truth about the so-called 'fat epidemic' Better yet, talk to some people in the fat acceptance movement to get another view the the accepted view of things.

  • @CharlestonChica totally! I agree!

  • I love the music for this.

  • Thank you so much for posting this!!!!!!!! I remember seeing this in the 70's on saturday afternoon when i was a kid. Probaly ther first creepy movie i ever saw and has stuck with me ever since. Tried to look for it on dvd, but it's nowhere to be found and the vhs copies cost alot. Classic 70's! Thanks again!

  • Omg...thank you sooooo much for posting The Spell :) I've always wanted to see this movie real bad!!!!

  • A great 70's classic - thanks

  • Saw this on This. like an italian villa, her home has a awsome kitchen. but her dad was a dick

  • Very Cool Classic Movie!! Those Girls are Horrible to Rita.
