Rita's not fat. She's just got BACK! Too bad the overweight girls can't see the future and how RAGGEDY some of those cute girls are about 20+ years later. Haha!!!
Rita is a good catch: a filthy rich family, hobbies she enjoys (needlepoint, spirituality, her interests in traveling, i.e. the school in England) and she has a prep school education. What man would sneeze at that?!!!!!
Has anyone else noticed that the girl playing Rita has the same, almost identical speaking voice of the actress Kitty Winn, who played Sharon inThe Exorcist?
Thanks for sharing this movie that I didn't know it yet. You got a great channel btw. Discovering or "rediscovering" those 70s horror films are always a good thing for people like me who were still teenageers at that time :)
And why make so much breakfast, there enough for twice as many. Hell I love my food, I'd eat seconds when there is so much sitting there going cold lol, and probably to waste too.
Lee Grant really gives a terrific performance. As noted... the house is beautiful. There is some good, intelligent dialogue between the parents, which raises this above other fare. Glad I found it ;)
This is not a bite off of Carrie. Sissy Spaesack didn't film Carrie until 1976 some time. I found it to very funny that the teacher pressed the stopwatch after confirming that she was on the ground. Great old school movie!
Don't read this cause it actually works. you will be kissed by your true love by the nearest friday. if you don't post this comment on atleast 3 videos, you will die within 3 days.
Thanks for posting! This was a very good takeoff on "Carrie" shown originally on NBC for the benefit of those like myself who were 2 young @ the time to see R-rated "Carrie".
I agree that Rita was NOT fat; she just wasn't svelte & would wager some of the nasty girls here were anorexic. I'm not in favor of killing anyone but that cocky, bitchy Jackie had it coming to her; someone like that I wouldn't weep @ their demise I hate to say.
Lee Grant is such a great actress. She's covered serious drama, horror and films now considered camp classics such as Valley of the Dolls. It's hard to believe that she was 50 here.
@billyralphweeden Except Carrie's mother was a religious fanatic who drove her daughter to insanity. Or sweet revenge - Depends on how you look at it - And how you stood in high school . . . I was a chameleon. Going from one group to group just for kicks. I was lucky enough to fit in hyst about everywhere. A good sense of humour, smart and my own money which I earned and spent like a drunken sailor. Only ones who didn't want me were the jocks (except the gay ones). and I was fine with that.
@CharlestonChica I agree...she's also cute. If I were her age back then, I'd have tried to make her mine. 02:18 by the way, that's Helen Hunt, age 14.
@nopp0x00: And how are things in your neck of the woods, asshole? I suggest you get a hold of a book called 'The End Of The Obesity Epidemic' and learn the REAL truth about the so-called 'fat epidemic' Better yet, talk to some people in the fat acceptance movement to get another view the the accepted view of things.
Thank you so much for posting this!!!!!!!! I remember seeing this in the 70's on saturday afternoon when i was a kid. Probaly ther first creepy movie i ever saw and has stuck with me ever since. Tried to look for it on dvd, but it's nowhere to be found and the vhs copies cost alot. Classic 70's! Thanks again!
HAha! Isn't it funny! The So-Called Fat Girl is the AVERAGE size of today 21st Century Girls! Skinny was a fad after all....lol

She's a slob, plain and simple. If she doesn't like being called "Tubbo", she should slim.

@CharlestonChica back in those days she would have been considered fat. these days 1/3 of all kids are really fat, so no one would notice.

@CharlestonChica
Yes she is fat. This movie is from an age before people started to use euphemisms to spare the frail egos of lardasses.
In America she probably would be considered normal given how many fatfucks make up their population.
