  • Surprisingly, I think like this version better... And I'm a much bigger fan of Gary than Clapton. That voice and that organ player blows my fucking mind. :D

  • Surely Eric's tribute to Gary should never have been about him giving us a demo of what an awesome guitar player he (Eric) is. Eric was paying tribute to the awesome talents of Gary. Who gives who is (was) best? They are all top drawer players and that should be enough ...

  • This is a truly fantastic rendition of the classic GM song! These guys are Musicians!

  • GOOD JOB ERIC ... WE KNOW THAT THEIRS ONLY ONE MAN THAT CAN PLAY THAT BEAUTIFUL SONG WITH A LES PAUL , AND THAT'S GARY ! BUT YOU MY FRIEND DID HE HIM A WONDERFUL RENDITION ... SO LET'S QUIT DOGGING ERIC , AND YOU TRY TO DO BETTER ! JOJO TAYLOR !

  • No i agree he should have plugged a les paul in

  • I loved the fact he played an acoustic. He knew he could not touch Gary note for note with a Strat. Class from Clappers to do a tribute though!

  • Obviously his take was tasteful and a true tribute performed like the gentleman that Mr. Clapton is!

  • A Master plays a Master. Big respect from EC. We all know what Eric is saying Gary Moore was a fookin legend and Eric wouldn't play this if he didn't like this piece of work and he wouldn't have played it at the time he did if it wasn't to pay respect to a passing legend.

  • What Eric nevers get s credit for is his amazing vocals. So so soulful - made ne cry man.

  • EC isn't limited to a Martin or a Strat! He could pick up a LP anytime he wants and in another concert he may play this song in anyone of many styles! he has the freedom and the skills to perform whatever his mood desires!

  • (TдT)

  • nice... :(

  • Eric never tries to outshine others, this is him being respectful

  • RIP Gary !

  • From one great to another great!!!

  • hi man! great video, the first of this awesome cover that takes a look in to the stage, is great, grettings!

  • Hmmm...I have second thoughts of this...to my knowledge..Clapton never played with Gary...WHY?????????????????

  • @vanu49 I`m thinking the exact same thing but I ain`t saying it in here!

  • @TheBedroomDwiddler Yes I feel so uncomfortable when I watch this....Clapton was my main man in the sixties when I was a lad...

Gary Moore burst on the scene...Im not argueing whos best...and dis cover is nice....Gary Moore played with Claptons' buddies Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker and......... Eric??????????

  • @vanu49 I still wonder why Eric never invited him to his `Crossroads Guitar Festival`...

    Just saying????

  • @TheBedroomDwiddler I remember reading an interview with GM where he said he invited EC to play on the Still Got the Blues album and Eric declined. He was kinda upset with him for that. He then went on to wonder why EC 'couldn't pick up a Les Paul and just play' or some such remark (it was a sly dig). I sensed that there was a rivalry between them and they weren't the best of friends. Sad really cos I would have loved to see them both play together.

  • @TheBedroomDwiddler Yeah...I totally agree with ye...anyway the 6th feb..Gary died a year ago..lets celibrate his work!!! and lets enjoy Clapton as well!!!!

  • @vanu49

Can't believe it is a year. Still gutted. But hey good memories of his live performances. You Tube keeps it in the memory! Long Live the music of Gary Moore. Long Live You Tube!

  • @chymist66 Same here. Missing Gary alot!

  • @TheBedroomDwiddler Who cares. Whatever happened, if anything, it's most definately in the past. If EC ever did do anything to upset gary, this performance more than makes up for it.

  • @vanu49 I'm not sure their sounds would mesh that well...

  • @Nickpatient True!!!!...but when ye respect one another...theres always a way!!!!

    Vanu.

  • FANTASTICO AMIGOS PEIMAR1 HASTA PRONTO

  • Bellísimo, lo digo reprimiendo unas lágrimas....., adios gran Gary Moore, que Dios te bendiga!

  • adios gary more alli nos veremos

  • well done. not enough tributes to gary out there. they should hold a concert with all blues legends playing garys songs, he was one of the best

  • @jimmygb88 One of the best? He was THEE best and won't be replaced in my lifetime,

  • e ainda tem gente que não gosta? caralhos?!??!?!?!?

  • Clapton as always... up there with the best BUT Mr. Moore 'owns' this song... Well done Eric. RIP Gary :(

  • 8 bieber fans RIP Gary

  • rip gary

  • RIP Gary

  • Eric Clapton is total class. \m/ \m/

  • Thanks Eric :)

  • Might be time for Eric to pick up a Les Paul ,Plug in and show us His Take, ELECTRIC

  • @lozzerman > I think Eric would love to play a LP in public but I think he probably has a contract w/ fender. I saw a video with Eric playing with Joe Bonamassa and Joe was wailing on his LP and Eric was looking like he wished he was too as he strummed his strat in awe.

  • Keep clicking "Like" . Cannot stop....

  • Respect for Eric the human being... One legend paying tribute to another great.. By the way I was present at the concert.. it was one of the best I have ever seen...

  • One legendary guitar player tipping his hat to another!

  • Kudos to the organ player. That was awesome!

  • @rikkislater

I agree. Wow the way he carries the song, amazing! Wish I could play like that...

  • Grande Eric Clapton recordando al gran Gary Moore(mi guitarrista favorito y Still Got the Blues mi canción favorita).

  • Que grande :)

  • fantastico Gary forever

  • THIS IS HOW ITS PLAYED

    Dm7, Am7/G, Cmaj7, F, Cmaj13 (you can get away with playing B7 here) then E7, Am, Bm7, Am/C for the verse

    then the bridge (so long...) is Dm7, Em7, Dm7, F9, E9, Am

So many years part is Dm7, Am7/G, Fmaj7, Am7, Em, Am

  • thats a sweet kay bass

  • Hammond B Gotta love it!!!

  • Ober ober ober-Hammer! Die B3 haut mich einfach nur weg....

  • точнее Steму Gadd

  • На барабанах играет один из самых легендарных ударников Стив Гэд

  • is it Roger Taylor plays on drums???

  • @23wolfrain Steve Gadd

  • That dude's killing that Hammond. May be my favorite part.

Check out Bonamassa and Jack Bruce doing midnight blues, it'll freeze you in your seat.

  • he had a fire.

  • Clapton=class...

  • With the exception of Joe Bonamassa and Kenny Wayne Shepard,we are losing

our blues greats,no one is replacing the ones that have departed.

  • @AnnaAnnaYes Haha, But for blues, you have to trace all the way back to the olden days. Sonny Boy Williamson was also a great Blues Man. Although during his time, there was no blues guitar (I think so :) )

  • @ShiroKazuki1988 Many historians feel that Robert Johnson was the father of modern Blues

And it was called the Blues back then.I was just refering to the fact that there are fewer and

fewer practioners of the Blues now.Sonny Boy is a legend.

  • @AnnaAnnaYes Check out Ryan McGarvey. He's an Albuquerque local, but soon he'll be playing the Royal Albert hall. I saw him show up Joe two years ago in Santa Fe. He'll blow you away.

  • @Genghis338 I believe Guitar Player devoted a paragraph or two to him last summer

  • To Gode Gitarister!! Eric og Gary!!

  • Que lo parió, se me piantó un lagrimón. Qué gran homenaje póstumo de "un grande" para otro "best" como Gary, q.e.p.d."

  • So beautiful... I will miss him forever :,(

  • I'm truly emotional and glad Clapton did this for Gary! ;) I love it.

  • grande clapton y gary moore por siempre

  • @gav25x That is a rather silly thing to say. The man's paying tribute and you disrespect him like that. Why would Eric NEED or WANT to copy Gary anyway? Eric started out as a bluesman and will always be one of the greatest. You never heard his covers album "From the Cradle"? His covers on that record make it one of his greatest albums ever, if not one of the best blues records ever.

  • @eqsmooth I'm aware of how good Clapton is, he's a great guitarist, he doesn't need to copy Gary, but he couldn't if he wanted to...Gary was in a league of his own. Just my opinion, no disrespect to Clapton.

  • @gav25x Well, Gary was good, but Clapton is God. And that's why Gary Moore wanted to do a record with EC. And as Gary said once, Clapton is best at soloing and playing rythm.. But there style was different.. And i don't understand why Clapton couldn't play Gary's Still got the blues note for note, when i can.. And I regards Clapton as a much better guitarist than me.. He is like world champion, and i play like in 5.division.. There is a reason why EC plays it this song on a Martin...

  • @Bigbluesboy, because really great musicians plays music their own way, and not "not-for-note" stuff.

  • @Bigbluesboy, that's because payin homage to another musician is not "I can play your song as good or better than you". If you play a different version, there also will be no stupid kid fights on youtube like "A played this better" vs "B played this better".

  • @eqsmooth Agreed. When I heard From the Cradle, I immediately said, best stuff since Cream, by far, and a step above the Bluesbreakers stuff -- more refined, faster, and simply the best Clapton I have heard.

  • There are 20 chords in this song--They flow together so well-This is a great tribute,

  • A really nice version of a classic song. A nice touch Eric.

  • fuck...eric and the dancing shoes,,, :-)))

  • Oh my God! this is a musical gem! The great Eric Clapton tribute to another great musician .... Gary Moore! Thanks for this great video!

  • Great Video!!! - What kind of recording device you used???? Handycam? The sound is brilliant! Thanks!

  • simply fantastic

  • I hope Eric will do a single release on this... I'll buy it no matter the price... it's a priceless tribute to a legend musician from a legend musician

    CR0SSJ 1 month ago

    " DITTO THAT "

  • DE UN MAESTRO A OTRO MAESTRO

  • I hope Eric will do a single release on this... I'll buy it no matter the price... it's a priceless tribute to a legend musician from a legend musician

  • Very nice of Clapton to salute the king Mr Gary Moore RIP

  • Real fans would know the song isnt over at 3:09 lol

  • @skateorguitar123 hell yea bro, that 14 15 17b19 riff is most striking at that part..

  • This is GOD.. When he covers great musicans, he makes his own version, and that's great done of him.. he doesn't copy Gary Moore here, and he made his own of Little Wing and Voodo Chile too... To make his own versions is paying true homage of the orginal artist :)

  • People say it was a disgraceful tribute but I can't see why? I liked it very much actually. What chords are used here and how is he playin it? would be nice to know

    Thanks in advance

    Sebastian

  • @bluespower1993 Key is Em. Chords are Am, Am/D, Gmaj7, Cmaj7,D9, B7, Em,( D/F#, G, E) for first verse then Am, Am/D, Gmaj7, Cmaj7, D9, B7 then the bridge (so long...) Is Em, Bm, Em, A, C9, B7, Em

then the part (So many years): F#m7, B7, Em, F#m7, B7, C7, B7, Am, Em

  • @uaala Thanks man! Only one questions, when you write Am/D. Can i choose between Am and D or what? I'm sorry I'm no pro on chords. Thank you again!

  • @bluespower1993

    I believe it's a Am with a D in the Bass

  • You got that right. It's this chord right here: wwww.chordie.com/ramimages/i6/AmslashDchord_NN0210_1.png @Gretschman44

  • Its Am with a D in the bass. It is almost the Am fingering without the middle finger.

  • @uaala the original is in Am though , just thought id throw that out there

  • @uaala And then you have to sing it !!! :) Thanks for the breakdown.

  • Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sounds amazing

  • THX.......tears.............................

  • Thanks Eric....for playing this tribute to Gary Moore!

    Max & Lenny

  • GREAT !! THX !!
