No offense dude, but I dont hear 1000 horsepower coming out of your boat...sounds more like a John Deer tractor the way it is idling. You sure that you aint trying to stretch it some?
screw all the ppl who dont think its a nice boat, its gorgeous, hope you can get it on a good cam instead of a phone id love to see the detail in this thing.
Nice boat and sound good but I bet the guy at the gas station LOVES you! A boat like that will put his kids through college with a couple fillups! LOL
Im sorry. can someone explain the title on this vid. you have 1000 Brake Horse Power on this boat. i was unaware of brakes on a boat. am i missing something?
@hksTypeR Brake horsepower or BHP is the measurement of horsepower produced on a dynamometer. The "brake" in this instance is a device used to load an engine and measure torque and rotational speed which determines the brake horsepower. Power measured in this configuration is taken directly from the output shaft of the engine, before the loss of power caused by any accessories (gearbox, alternator, power steering pump, etc).
@mosipd I was under the impression that brake horse power was called so because they have dyno's that measure at the brakes on a car. or is that different? i thought that flywheel horse power was what you got when they did it on an engine dynno like what your saying. brake hp on a brake dyno and wheel hp on a chasis dyno. Have i been fed a bunch of BS all my life or am i right. Im realy not trying to be a dick or say that your stupid, i just never heard of that.
@hksTypeR I totally understand wanting further clarification. People will say just about anything online and asking for confirmation is better than just accepting everything at face value. The BHP unit goes back to the days of steam engines when they used a De Pony brake connected to the output shaft of engines. The term just stuck as a measurement of power produced without any accessories. If you do a Google search you can find references to the origins of the term. Hope this clears it up! :)
@mosipd I shall do a search of it. I was going to yesterday when i wrote that but got preocupied. that does sound familiar now that you say that. Thanks for not taking me as an ass as most do and yelling obcenities. and thanks for the explination.
@chrishew85 How does that work then? does the water pump on a boat suck directly from the lake rather than a reservoir tank on the boat itself? excuse my ignorance i just don't know much about boats or how their engines are cooled.
@malumventurum There are two main types of cooling systems on boats, fresh and raw water cooled. A FWC engine uses a closed loop system, very similar to a car, and circulates water (contained in a reservoir and the engine) around a heat exchanger. Sea water is then picked up from a through-hull fitting directly from the water beneath the boat by a belt driven impeller. Then it's circulated around the heat exchanger, cooling the "engines" water. Continued...
@malumventurum A RWC engine bypasses the heat exchanger and cools the engine directly. The water is still picked up from a belt driven impeller, but then enters the engine's water jackets directly. The only real advantage to a RWC engine over an FWC engine is less plumbing and exhaust parts. RWC engines should be flushed after each use and generally have a slightly less overall life span. The third type of cooling is a passive system, called dry exhaust, with pipes generally in a boats keel.
Im all for horsepower and performance on the road, but when you start putting 1000+Hp in a lake so you can waterski, well... The exhaust DOES go right into the water amirite? Nice toy though.
I am envious. the sound is orgasmic. ( in a non sexual way of course) i had a jet boat ( old school) wiht an olds 455 in it. had some type of valve in it. where hte exhaust could exit above or below hte water i regret sellign that boat
no u fuckstick, i read the fuckin title. and i took it as a total of 1000 hp, which it is, your the dumbass that must be missing parts to think its 2000hp, have a happy.
