MoonAmi's name---I adopted her with the name of Ami or Amy. It was Halloween so I couldn't take her home for several days.That gave my Mom & I time to dream up a name. Since it was Halloween, I wanted some connection. Many people think I am saying Mon Ami which means my friend in French. I think it just has a nice flow sound. So she has her original name and the moon for the Halloween adoption date. Thanks for asking.

well the advantage of a duckling pet is you dont have to train it to follow you around ALL THE TIME..they just adopt you or any walking creature as their temporary parent. i had a duckling once and he was such a stalker!! he almost got run over by a car once cause he jumped out of the car and ran after my parents crossing the street. :S

abysmalmonkey; you are right on! Moon Ami loves the duckling but wants her space. Moon Ami was hoping I would step in and help her out but I was busy taking the video. ha! You will see them in some of my other videos where Moon Ami is playing with her. The duckling sees Moon Ami as a mommy and Moon Ami see the duckling as a little pal and play thing.

Ducks just bond to the first thing they see. I had a banty chicken hatch out some duck eggs and those babies followed her everywhere. Of course, they got big quickly and banty chickens are small. Plus there's the water issue. All turned out well in the end.

@lore1st They bond to what spends a lot of time with them early on, because the ones you get from the store have seen the breeders, have seen the store workers that have to handle giving them food and water etc. Then they come home to those who buy them, if you spend time bonding with them they will do the same thing (my ducklings were just as stuck to me and we got them when they were like a week old then.
