As is evidenced from viewer interest, Rossi still has a worldwide following. Even more amazing is the Carlos Gardel phenomenon since he died in 1935. Rossi didn't die until 1983 so many of his original fans are still alive.
The difference is that, whereas Gardel finds new fans every day among people who could be his great-grandchildren (like, say, Bessie Smith), Tino Rossi is entirely a period phenomenon.
And yet, 2 Rossi postings are among my top 10 most watched (out of over 500). Of course, I don't know how old the vioewers are, except for those who post comments.
Tino Rossi was also loved by Many Koreans, and one of his song is still used for a signal song for a radio program called 'Starry Night', since the show's first premiere in 1972.
