It wasn't intended to be logical, it was intended to be symbolic. Actually come to think of it in The Dark Knight a vaguely similar thing happens (he dies before the coin lands).

Im laughing like crazy here!Burton's Batman movies are classic,have a magic with this creepy gothic tone,Gotham City was perfectly dark and Elfman's score was THE Batscore.although Batman Forever had some good things in it, Schumacher killed Batman with those kids oriented movies, specially Batamn and Robin.Nolan borught back the bat iwth a more real and complete backstory of Bruce Wayne and a more detective,crime and crude bad ass tone. One more thing I forgot to say was that Ledger's performance as the Joker was simply amazing. He was crazy, psychotic, unpredictable, and intelligent all at once. I must say that for the first time in almost 20 years since the first Batman film, a special actor was able to assume the role of the joker with style. I got to hand it to him; he was terrific. This will be remembered in his records for years to come. Rest in peace Ledger, you will be remembered and missed.

I don't see the big deal about the whole coin landing into two-face's hand as he dies. Yeah, it's pretty unlikely, but it's not impossible. Plus it had to be done out of the completion of the character. You can't take TF's coin away from him, even as he dies. It would be like taking Joker's acid squirting flower off him or Penguin his umbrella.

The way it's filmed, it looks like the coins cause Harvey's fall, and as a result, fall first. Then he falls, goes underwater, leaves a hand above water, opens it, and one coin amongst the others lands at that time. Why didn't the other coins fall around the area?
