Avril wrote it but felt she wouldn't find success with it but she loved the song and didn't wanna scrap it so just like Jesse Mcartney who wrote Bleeding Love and felt the same way about his song, they both given it to Leona as she was the 1 to watch in 2008. Bam because of Leona breaking records that year. Avril would later sing the song in gigs again as it found popularity through Leona. Hope that clears it up. Though this was written by Avril Lavigne, it is better suited to Leona Lewis' stylings. Avril just doesn't have the soul for a song of this caliber (Although that's not to say that she can't sing, as we all know she can.) I just feel that this song is meant to be more powerful and have a depth that Avril just can't reach. Leona Lewis has the power to belt out these lyrics as they are meant to be sung, while Avril sounds a bit more as though she's just reading from a script. My two cents.
