  • Hmmm....I'm not sure how I feel about this. On one hand, the game is like Romeo and Juliet. It just...doesn't work if they don't die. On the OTHER hand, we all wuv Maddysukee wif all our hearts and I'm sure most of us were very sad when she died. This was rather well made, but I wish they made it so they would put more use to the effects. And yeah, we get it, she was going do die, the blood stains were not needed. But...I AM kind of thankful for Madotsuki living...just a bit. Just a bit.

  • If anybody wants a sad ending see either Metal Gear 4 or Mother 3 (well, actually the whole game is depressing :( Oh and Celes's suicide attempt from Final Fantasy VI is sad, but she survives at least.

P.S I hope I spelled her name right, I haven't played Final Fantasy for a while.

  • @SNESguy1992:

If you want a REALLY sad game try Narcissu.

  • @SNESguy1992 Nice job with the spoiler warning

  • wheres the mirror?

  • >People are sad about Madotsuki dying in the original game

    >A fan makes a mod so that she lives and tries to face society

    >People ask "why didn't she die?"

    GODDAMN, I HATE YOU GUYS.

  • Why do people think she still goes though nightmares after this? Her nightmares stemmed from the fear of leaving her apartment so in a way didnt she concur her fears by jumping, waking up, and leaving?

  • @halohunt275 Seeing as this game has no dialog, and is very open ended. No one knows for sure why she has nightmares, or if they would stop in this ending.

  • I like it, but it's all creepy and then DISSAPOINT. Plus, it's too much lke .flow's ending...

  • I think this one is probably worse.

Yeah sure, in the real ending she dies BUT she escaped from a life of here horrendous nightmares.

My idea of this is that when she woke up she tries to jump but wakes up in her dreams, she goes in to the dream door and gets locked inside her nightmares for eternity.

Or perhaps, this is what happened to her mind when she dies.

She may not be living, but sent to her dream land as hell.

  • I hear in the official version, if you get all 25 effects, there is a happier ending, is this true?

  • @moesbar11 Ummm...just play it and you will find out.

  • To all of you who say this doesn't make any sense: maybe the monsters inside her head symblizes humanity and she realizes in order to get rid of them she has to face them?

  • It must be horrific to be cursed with such intense nightmares. I guess one explanation is that she's in hell or something. Or intensely disturbed. No matter the endings, I think they're all pretty tragic. Just to experience such hell is not pretty. At the most, I probably experienced 1% of a nightmare's intensity this girl did.

  • I like idea that you can choose ending. Happy or Sad.

  • Crap ending. The original ending was not inherently bad or good; what it was depended upon the player's interpretation of the events in the game leading up to it. This is just...meaningless. Based on the events that happen in the game, I don't have any reason to believe that she actually died in the original ending; I don't think she was ever awake in the game to begin with. I hate it when people just take it at face value and get so worked up over it that they have to create crap like this.

  • @RobotMasterSplash So you consider this ending "meaningless", yet your theory that the whole game was a dream, and thus came to no actual conclusion, you consider meaningful? I don't see how that works.

Also, it's curious how you say the ending depends on interpretation and then state your disdain for people who take it at "face value". Who are you to say it's not an interpretation in its own right? And the way I saw the game's events, her death seemed a natural conclusion.

  • I rather this ending.

  • sooo... this ending is bad because she lived?

I like this ending better. suicide is just... depressing.

  • Why did you use the Medamaude Effect at 1:05?

  • @927541 to teleport back?

  • And then she cross the street and get hit by a bus xD xD

I like his ending anyway ^^

  • @DjSugarKitty95 I feel so bad for laughing so fucking hard at that. But I agree with scryna24. :/

  • @haloK1773R Yeah, I agree with that too ^^

  • Personally this ending is "Creepier" until the very last second. But at the same time, a girl likeMadotsuki going out of her room could be dangerous if you think about it. I personally think they should have had this whole thing minus her leaving her room added into the end of the original... and then she dies. But ya know that's just me.

  • I think this ending scared the hell out of me more than the other one o_o

  • The download button on mediafire keeps refreshing the page instead of downloading! D-=

  • I think as far as a "happy" Yume Nikki ending goes, this is the best anyone could really do.

  • 1:07 Look At The Door , Then Look Left (WHAT IS THAT?)

  • Whether this ending is better or worse (situation-wise, not as far as quality goes) depends on how you interpret the original.

  • Is it bad that I lol'd at the suicide part?

    *Jumps*

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

    *Plop on floor*

  • What I think she was depressed and in her dream she killed herself but u always wake up before u die and when she wake up she told her parents that a better ending for me

  • This would've been a WAYY better ending ;/

  • So this is not an original version?

  • aww she left the room >w< cute!!

  • hey the mirror dont appear QwQ i dont really know if i install the alternate ending good with the aplication i really dont know hey the mirror appear when you have all the efects please tell me i must need to know

  • IMO, the whole thing was one huge dream. She fell out of bed(when she jumped off the building in her dreams) and just got up and walked out no problem. She was probably a hikkikomori in her dreams, or something.

  • the real ending she got schiphrenia and tought she was awake

  • So after treading through a near-endless amount of blood, committing suicide in her dream, and waking up, she decides to stop being a hikikomori and goes outside?

    ...and I was like "WTH?"

  • How is that disappointing? You just changed a person's life completely.

  • Could it be that she had that dream, and then killed herself?

  • 神だね・・・

    すごすぎるね・・・

    お気に入りだね・・・

    〔そしてもう一度〕神だね・・・

  • I didn´t understand this game and i´m not going to understand it forever.

  • I like It! She went outside of her room and she doesn't die!

  • this ending isn't good, it's "extended", She had her own creepy world... in the end she gets bored and decides to end it

you always wake up before falling to your death in dream? She tried, but still remained in the dream

The problem wasn't exiting the dream, but entering reality ... i know,it sounds soo... ¬¬

  • I think she still died. It's just the whole "enterance to the after life is a familiar place" bit

  • Damn the door ATE her! That's messed up!

  • She had a dream about dying. then she woke up and then she was glad but then she woke up again.

    Wait what.

  • unofficial=非公式

  • Oh, it's supposed to be after she died and she's confronting her dreams...

    I GET IIIIT.

  • Oh so she woke and said "screw this I'm going outside"? Lol

  • the ending in the original game was only put in for completion's sake, so I consider it completely optional, just another part of the game that you can visit if you like.

  • What I think...

The field of lights? It might be heaven

And afterwards you can hearing thumping... like the beating of a heart? She died in her sleep and therefore died in real life. I think she was a ghost at the end. Possibly a heart attack from fright. Since it is true you can die in your sleep.

Or perhaps it was all a dream and shes alive after all. Hope so. But thats what I think.

  • you people don't even realise the "real wolrd" at the actual ending is a dream...

  • Both endings are sad and depressing, except that this one she was just dreaming about her own death of the suicide before she falls of the bed...

  • @JohnnyHGT Oooh the thump must have been her falling out of her bed when she jumped, and then she finally leaves the room and her dreams behind maybe?

  • @Fluteplayinghuru285 I surely hope so! =)

  • Both endings are horrible.

  • I don't think this ending is better or worse than the original ending. It's different, yeah, but they really don't compare. I don't think either of them are sad, but neither of them are really happy either. In the original ending, yes, she died, but she also escaped. In this ending, yes, she finally left her room and (possibly) got help, but she still has to live with her dreams. So yeah. I'm sure all of this has allready been said...

  • @soryna24 I deeply disagree with you

People with wild dreams and imagination still shouldn't kill themselves

it's not a good option to "escape"

hack! people like this should be cherished and well taken care of

I'm a schizophrenic myself, and seeing her loosing her life- excepting the fact that there is no room for her in the real world,it's crashing my hope

It's crashing other peoples hope too.

  • @soryna24 I don't see how her death being an escape makes it not sad. All suicides could be thought of as "escapes", they're still undesirable and unhappy occasions. It's not like she wanted to commit suicide, I think it's more that she felt driven to by her own personal issues.

And I don't think her dreams are the root of her problems, just the symptoms. In this ending (even if it is poorly made) she is leaving her room to try and face the world. She has hope.

  • @soryna24 When and then to be honest in the end its all what "we" the gamers decide why should we leave her room or why she killed herself. The only true person who can tell you the ending is Kikyama himself or you some how got high and saw Madotsuki yourself and asked her......well it didnt end up good when I asked she stabbed me in the knee.

  • shitty fanbase couldn't stand a BADEND because that'd break their MOE STANDARTS, then they made a crappy edition to implement a GOODEND...what a bunch of faggottry...the game is about the obscure depths of a depressive mind, not about a cute girl who wants to be kind with you fucks

  • @Peashant2142

    moe standarts

    standarts

    STANDARTS

  • @MachoNight typo

  • I dislike this ending, because hasnt a oficial ending...

  • i like this ending

  • Wait, so how do you get the mirror? I just got all of the items in the version of Yume Nikki you provided.

  • So in both the video for the first ending, and this ending, people are rambling about how they don't like it. It's just a game, a game made in RPG maker, calm down. It's no worse or better of an ending then games like LSD or Sweet Home.

  • She is not a hikkikomori anymore. I cried a lot ;_;

  • I'm glad this ending isn't in the original game, this is kind of bullshit.

  • this is like yume 2kki ending in yume nikki

  • wow, I've seen both endings and it's just wow... she jumps off in the dream world then wakes up. since she woke up on the floor maybe she jumped off her bed? but what I don't get is when you killed the monsters for money you still have it in the regular world.

    hmmm...

  • It seems odd how someone would edit the original Yume Nikki into having an alternate ending. O_o I wonder if they got permission...

  • That's one of the most hidden endings ever...

  • So wait, you understood the rest of the game and yet you couldn't understand a field of lights!? it's Yume Nikki, make a theory!

  • The dream her died, so she could finally leave her room.

  • i like the original ending better, they should have empathized this better, even if they did that, i'd still prefer the original

  • Featured video: Girl rides bicycle into the depths of hell!

  • Just got a little issue here, I think that whoever made the game (although they did a pretty good job with fitting it in with the overall theme) had good intentions, but didn't really pull the ending off. The original ending was left deliberately ambiguous, as was the meaning o the entire dream world. This ending seems to me as if it's trying to make sense of a game that is completely up for interpretation. It's not that I'm saying this ending is bad, just misguided.

  • Thats some creepy game (how came this game creep me out like fear?)

  • This game looks boring, unappealing and tedious just from this video

  • @AsterDXZ Dont jugde a book by its cover you must play it to really get the feel for it.

  • @MrPivotjuggalo I actually did play the game, i was right, got sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bored

  • @AsterDXZ Well, okay then.

  • @AsterDXZ It's a mod, but you probably wouldn't like the game anyhow.

  • @AsterDXZ it's a fanmade mod :U

  • Wellfield of lights commonly symbolise souls going to heaven.Madotsuki goes in a direction opposite of the lights movements, so this means that she will live.

  • Maybe, but the whole artistic originality of this game spured from how the main character was hopeless and inevitable doomed. Don't mean to pick a fight here, but just saying.

  • I think they should have shown a "struggle" first. Like, she paces about, so the player can see she is "thinking" of leaving, and tries, but goes back, and finally actually leaves. More of an impact that way IMHO,

  • MUCH better!

  • Hopefully she went out the door to go to a therapist... O_o

  • This ending is better than having to watch her splatter at the end.

  • nice, of course i prefer this ending :D

  • I think it would've been better to see her leave the room, walk through her house, and go outside. She looks up to see the sun shining. There. That would be a nice ending. Good to see after all of that crazy S@#% we saw in her whacked out dreams.

  • is this ending true is not a path or something fake is true is true

  • Comment removed

  • I kind of like it.. Maybe if the background to jump off the building was a little less obvious that it was fake. That's the only place that has a ripply effect like that. Also the rooms with all the blood don't follow the original style that well- more open, black space maybe? I just felt the "meaning" or whatever behind those rooms was too blatantly obvious

  • @wolfhazuza i agree with you but i believe that this is the climax of her dream and everything is coming to a close so the blood represents the other places with it but it's all come together in her final moments before her acceptance when she decides to leave.

  • so... she either kills herself, or finally leaves her room. o.0 okaaaaaaay. never playing this game.

  • @PrincesTomboy The ending is only a small part of the game. The meat of it is in the exploration.

Don't knock it til you try it.

  • Okay. So, I downloaded this, got all the items as fast as I could, And there. Is No. Mirror. So, considering I also tried the "fat" effect. and got nothing. Mind explaining if this is even a real game edit available? Or if this is just something perhaps you or someone you know did, and are just showing us.

  • Regardless...I personally prefer the original ending. Happy endings don't always happen...Yume Nikki feels better as a look into what happens when insanity slowly draws you deeper and deeper into your mind.

  • @Darkmage1293 But it is better to let her live her life, she HAS to over come her fears and dreams, not give up and be able to come out of her room, which she did and now she wont have to kill herself in the endless pain of hell or death...BTW if you didnt know, suicide (i think) is the most sinful sin of all sins, ending in hell instead of heaven, so its better to keep living than dying and going to hell -_-

  • @Darkmage1293 i agree... by the end shes completely insane. you cant just get over it all of a sudden like that. the original ending is more believable

besides, yume nikki isnt a happy game. why should it need a happy ending?

  • WTF?

  • This is the Yume 2kki end c:

  • awwww she finally got the courage to leave :')

  • o_o

That was a great ending. You're crazy. TBF I like both, no matter what the interpretation (in a vague way, both endings can be interpreted as the same, probably).

    Wow. TT____TT

  • If this is real, I want.

  • I may have not liked the ending, but that end music makes everything soo perfect... :,S *faves*

  • I have heard this ending could possibly be scarier. As in, she's NOT escaping her insanity, she's going to embrace it....

  • @DoomRater maybe she understood that real life can't be worse than her dreams so finally she decided to go out and live. (sorry for necroposting)

  • Yume Nikki as a puzzle game, Awesome. Really, all effects should have some use in the game. Most of them are useless or only used a couple of times...

  • aww...I wish this is how it ended D:

  • 6 people are sadistic fucks.

  • @thexdeadxone What's wrong with being a sadistic fuck? Psychopaths get farther in life :D

  • @zoomshinysnail

    ...Reference to the non-happy original YN ending. Now is 8 o_o;

  • I really like both.

The original ending is sadder, of course, but it also shows more of what Madotsuki was really going thriugh, it puts a lot more emotion into the game.

But I like this one too, it's how I /want/ it to end.

Really, the two endings don't compare. The entire game is, I think what you make it. So, I don't think there is a 'right' ending. (Even if this one is unoffical...)

  • She comitted suicide in her dreams instead of in reality.

In my opinion this is an excellent ending, because I don't have to part from Madotsuki-chan... :<

  • Ok, so what happened was she jumped in her dreams, and woke up when she fell out of bed. I think she realized how screwed up her dreams and her life was getting, and finally decided to go outside. But, it's kinda hard to tell what's going on when you use something like RPG Maker to make a game like this.

  • For me, this wasn't an alternate ending, more like after she jumped, she entered a new dream with a new hub and watever doors, the final door, is where she finds a way to exit her dreams for good. i think it's this because at 0:42 you can see the jellyfish thingies and the blood and herself.

  • This one made me less sad but I still cringed when she jumped.

By unofficial version do you mean like this was a beta?

  • @PartyWithMaracas It is a fan mod/

  • @starstarSTARS2 Ah I see.

  • Sankyuu!

  • dead link, bro

  • I actually kinda like this ending.

  • Disappointing?

Speak for yourself. I prefer it to the original.

  • no wai man

it's like if in the ending of the passion of the christ jesus pulls out the cross and kickes jews asses

  • @darkinard The Jews? You mean the Romans, I suppose.

  • By any chance do you still have the copy of the game that has this ending? The link in your description seems broken.

  • That ending SUCKS it has no depth or correlation with her dreams at all.. The "final" world was poorly compared to the other worlds that followed a single theme.. But hey.. If people are simple minded and want a "happy" ending, go for it.. If you want to tickle your intellect with nightmarish images, I suggest the original ending.

She dreams in general to "escape reality." No human can witness the things she did and come to terms on their own.. It usually needs another person.

  • @gamrage Just because some people want a happy ending doesnt make them simple-minded....

  • @gamrage Really? I thought the idea of Mado finally leaving her room was appropriate closure for her and the gamer. Or were you just talking about everything other than her leaving the room?

  • she farted lol

  • its not as a powerful ending as the original ending in my opinion but some one put some work into hacking it to have a good ending so.....eh

  • I don't understand why people are calling this ending happy. Madotsuki's only refuge was her dreams, but now even they had become distorted. She wanted to escape, thus her commiting suicide. Not having to carry the burden of life around on her sholders anymore she felt free, uplifted. In this ending, she's forcing herself to continue carrying that burden. Not only that, but she's also forcing herself to face everything she was hiding from in her room by leaving. That's just my opinion though.

  • @RabbitWing123 That's why the ending's happy: She decided to face everything that she was hiding instead of running from it. Instead of finding false tranquility and peace within her dreams, she decided to go out and make her own happiness. She forces herself to carry that burden again because life isn't about being easy, it's about overcoming those burdens and becoming a better person for it. Instead of being 'Free' inside of her mind, she decided to free herself from her dreams.

  • @LordArkea well said! :D

  • @LordArkea I think it also has to do with the idea that having faced the idea falling and losing herself the way she had planned, she figured she didn't want to end it right there, and all you said.

  • @LordArkea Or maybe it was all a dream, she's a perfectly normal person, and everyone playing these games are shut-ins projecting their own problems onto her.

Yeah, I'm goin' with that theory!

  • @LordArkea One of the best comment I'd read in my life for Yume Nikki's Alternate Ending...So true, it makes me sad from the inside (My dad's working beside me, so no crying. LOL!)

  • I can't get this ending. Is the download link a mod to get this ending or something?

  • "Error downloading file. Retrying..."

  • まどつき外に出るエンディングもあるんだ! これはビックリ! 自殺エンドしかないと思ってた

  • I don't know It was kind of an abrupt ending. The original was kind of poetic but his seemed as though it ended happy for the sake of ending happy

  • The lights thing toward the end kinda reminds me of that stuff from the Clannad afterstory, anyone else think so?

  • ...I don't get what happened...

  • @LovelyPrincessCloud

The girl beat her fear of whatever is outside.

    And she doesn't die.

  • This is nice, but I actually liked the original ending better.

  • @Rexus64 You have to get rid of all effects in the dream world before going back into the real world and then it lets you jump. So it's impossible, because effects only work in the dream world anyway. owo

  • I reject the original ending and substitute it with this one.

  • This ending is better than the other ending :3

  • The problem I have with this is that she wakes up and then is all "OK! I'm gonna leave my room now!" And then she does. The end. Like it's no big deal and she could've done it whenever she felt like it.

It might have been better if she had paused, looked back at her room for a moment, and then built up to courage to leave her room. Something to emphasize that she's making a difficult move, but has grown enough to do it.

  • @Ryoujou It's completely speculative to say she could've done it anytime she felt like it.

The story behind this game is a total mystery.

  • @Ryoujou Maybe she was really scared by the door not opening in her dreams meaning they did not accept her anymore and they made there world a mess by ruining everything so the closed the door of her room by somehow getting out of there world an she had no other choice but to jump so when she woke up maybe she was terifided and left the house for help and she got some :>.

  • @Ryoujou well, she could've jumped off her balcony any time, too...

  • It's like Madotsuki thinks she needs to get over her past and start a new life. She wakes upe from her mightmare.

  • I thought that was kind of nice. Don't get me wrong, I love the game and it's ending as is now, however this is also a nice alternate ending for such a sad (but awsome) game.

  • Nice add-on, did you make it, or someone else?

  • the end of the nightmare.... isn't it?

  • I love you for upload a version of this

  • I wanna know why people hate the original ending so much. Yes, this one is happier, but do you REALLY think such a happy ending fits such a sad, creepy, and downright depressing game? No.

  • @AkaneKuroi

I guess she was breaking out of her depressive state in that blood world, but your point is valid. The real ending is the better one, but this one is at least interesting.

  • @AkaneKuroi Proper endings should be long not short and simple such as jumping to death this looks more like a real ending but meh...

  • ..:V Strangely I like the music from that blood world placey place

  • Ohh come on... you just want to see Madotsuki death, this ending is better

  • this symbolises that some times if your high it can kill you but in this case yopu can live too....

    member kids, drugs are suisidal!!!

  • @montalvohector13 learn to spell.
