Since Edison hated jazz, and also since his son Charles, took over much of the record business, I wonder how much actual say Old Man Edison had in releasing such recordings by then.
@opradan43 Thanks for the nice comments. I suspect that Edison (Thomas that is) at this point in his life had relinquished and thereby delegated some of the musical genre recording control in his company that he had firmly maintained earlier on.
This kind of sounds like New Orleans or rag time type of music. I like it. I have some Big Band music on CD. I don't have any of these older machines. I do have a modern Sony turn table for 33s and it can play 45s. It's not versatile enough for the 78s.
I think it's pretty cool that these machines can still play ans you have found some records that have survived the test of time. Not easy for those older brittle vinyl disks. Keep up the good work. :-)
I have this very same record and a Edison Disc A250. I also notice you have a Reginaphone 246 as well. Same as me. My serial number is 2460182, what is the serial number of your Reginaphone? Just curious! Nice Post!
Thanks for your comments, Pete. My Reginaphone Style 246 is serial number 2460012. It's one of the very earliest ones to come off the line at the Regina Company. Interesting that you have this record too! Thanks again for your comments.
Another great record!
