While I will admit that I do prefer the original series (All of my AMVs are only of the original series, in fact) I still wouldn't go quite as far as saying that G.U. "ruined" [dot] hack. If you really want to see where it started down hill, watch "Legend of Twilight" series. A huge disappointment, IMO.
