White fish bay Born and raised and yea all of this true, and proud of it.I sang this song with my Dad few years ago and ....tommy Sr came over and smiled shuk our hands......
With voices like that they are definitely Northern...love the sound. They are hitting the crap out of that drum. Are the women singing behind the drum? If I am correct and that is what I hear it sure sounds great....thanks for posting.
whitefish bay are still jaming the pow wow trail i saw them last september in cass lake, mn and they still got it. nice to hear them Ojibwe tunes on the world wide web
oh yea..its from lake of the woods area....whitefish bay to be exact....joe syrette is the only one who knows it...he shows them crees who to jam the womens jingle..
Mr. Syrette in the yellow and white sleeve shirt was probaly the only one singing the song rite....mr. ojibaway...keep singing srong out in cree country...holding the leads like a pure ojibway...keep it going man...this song is my uncles song...as long as its brings happiness...he is happy...as with all our round dance songs...tom white sr..u the man...
Dude this is an Ojibway ojibway song..listen to the words..Manitou (Spirit) hinidoot (listen) Benese (Thunderbird)...etc...Blackfoot is not ojibway they are blackfoot! This comes from treaty three LAke of the Woods Ojibway!
i remember talking to steve wood years ago, asking for permision to sing northern cree songs on our drum, and his response made us feel good, we where just learning at the time and gave us alot of incouraging words, he said we where allowed to sing them any time any where and that if a song was brought out on the pow wow trail it then belongs too the people, over the years they have been a drum group we look up too. much respect too the boys on northern cree
im from wfb and this song is my dads and hes proud to hear it when he hears it and it doesnt matter how and who sings it, it brings him happiness when he hears it.
Let me lay all this debate to rest. This is an Anishinabe song..first its sang in Anishinabe(Ojibway) for those pepps who dont speak there language. Also this song originates from the lake of the woods area..in other words..near kenora and whitefish bay. This song is sang by many Anishinabe elders in that area that have been singing it for along time. Including my grandfather.
Cool, didn't didn't think you all would post in here. I'm Anishanabe but speak and understand Cree better. Sad as it may be my native language is a tough one to learn. Just knowing Cree tho helps me understand the OJ.
Keep the group together White Fish Jr is bad azz too.
Tansi, niyanan wiya e-nehiyaweyak ekwa mina e-papikiskweyak. awina oma kamamiskomat namoya e-nehiyawicik. kiya ka-papikiskwatan POWWOWLEADZ. It was an honer to sing this good Ojibway tune that we learn't from someone else before my son-in-law Joe started to sing with us. That said, my group has been around for the last 25 yrs and I do remember the WFB singers. Where are they now? Just wondering.
wooooooow ,, thats tight. I used to rip that in my bmw with 2X 10 inch subs in the back. Man was that tight.. Id go around and pull up beside the pigs and just rev the beast while the shit is just pounding in the back. Occasionally id give em' a node (ya no , enjoyen the beat and get a lil getaway from the haterz). Now I'v upgraded my system little bit. I'v taken out the 10's and swapped it for an old empty oil drum (almost no rust).
Awesome

The Truth about "ThanksGiving"
--horrendous crimes! by white people
Gathering, Sharing, Cordiality, "Thanks for the Aid and survival" are pure fabrication and a Facade to
cover and hide horrendous crimes since The real Thanksgiving Celebration was about a different event.
remove space at "com" and paste the rest at the end:
