I saw the movie. Fun, if you pay student fare. FX was great, storyline was OK, but the series is running very lean/thin on the befreinding-a-terminator theme. Sorry to say, this is no T2. (But it wasn't as bad as T3.) Still way better than the TV show. I hope they try a completely diffrent storyline, and drop the whole "our future is already known (?) because my friend is my father" bit. Get on with the war already.

Towards the end of the movie, John Connor and Marcus Wright battle it out with an animated Terminator which is supposed to be designed as Schwarzenegger-- so no, he is not ACTUALLY in the movie, but an animated version that looks like him in his "early" days.

part 3, it just didn't have the James Cameron directing and fine tuning like 1 & 2, and apparently the TV show doesn't even acknowledge the part 3 storyline. I don't think Mario Kassar (producer) was involved with part 3 either (but 1 & 2 he was)

I hate all the different interpretations of John Connor. In every single terminator movie, he's played by a different actor (none of whom look alike), AND has a completely new personality. The John Connor of the future is first shown as haggard and battle scarred, the John of T2 is a punk kid with no regard for authority, and the John of T3 was a whiner who failed to save the world. Now he's a badass played by Christian Bale? I love the Terminator, but choose a John Connor and stick with it.

Look at it this way, T2 he's a crazy rebellious kid, T3 shouldn't even be considered because it was such a piece of shit movie and..."the future is not set, there is no fate but what we make for ourselves" in other words the old Connor of T2 doesn't necessarily have to be the Connor of Salvation because of the flexibility of time. And if none of that sits well, "Suspension of Disbelief" just my $0.02
