  • OU<3

  • What I hate is how a good play by Reggie Smith 5 years ago would be on ESPN's highlight real that night, now in 2011 its a personal foul and a 15 yard penalty. I get what they are trying to do, but its football. The players take a risk when they decide to go forward and play on the college level.

  • reminds me of the 09 nc game when the uf defender leveled the ou reciever except in that case uf defender got the yellow flag... probably because the uf hit vs this one was alot harder.

  • @bamaisnumberone hey brain dead, UF didnt get the flag. Your an idiot

  • I look at this and think, There won't be hits like this much longer. I'll miss hitting. It's fun to watch. Sure as a player, it's not fun to get hit like this, but as a fan, its one of the reason i watch football. Hard hits. The NFL is ruining the game and turning it into a sport for pussies

  • Hope to see a lot of this on Saturday.

  • HE WAS KNOCK THE FRICK OUT

  • I'm tired of hearing announcers and the NCAA cry about how a defensive player makes a hit. IT'S FOOTBALL DAMNIT!!!! All I ever hear is "don't lead with the helmet, don't launch your body, don't pull on their shoulder pads..." HEY, NCAA, WHY DON'T YOU JUST MAKE THEM WEAR FLAGS AND PLAY FAG, I MEAN, FLAG FOOTBALL AND WEAR A DAMN TUTU? I've had enough of the crying. If you really want to protect the players, make better pads you dumbasses!

  • @OUfootballAuthority Agreed. You would never hear any of this in Rugby, and they don't even wear pads.

  • That was a pretty damn good hit

  • DOING HIM DIRTY

  • they knocked the shit out of him

  • reggie smith was so kickass

  • I watched this play from the opposite sideline, he hit him hard but it was clean. If you want to whine about it then A. you're a bitter Mizzou fan or B. You want football to suck

  • LOL WRECKED

  • I don't know what he would be called for. He hit the guy but it wasn't helmet to helmet.

  • "I've seen that called right there" You don't call a hit. You just do it. I'd like to know what team he was on that calls before every play what kinda hit you put on someone.

  • he's talking about the ref calling it. not the player

  • I think he was referring to the official calling it a penalty. I remember watching this game and being afraid we would get flagged for it, seems today you cant "play" football anymore. NFL is the worst, you look at a QB and you get fined. I forget his name, but one D-lineman grabbed one and let go of him when the guy quit moving and then the QB threw a pass. He got fined the week before for taking the QB to the ground in the same situation. Its turning into a pussy game.

  • You got a point there. Football has become to over protective of the players to the point that it's ruining the game. I heard that the NFL is so rediculously stiff on it because the fines the player pays goes directly to the owners of the team. Either way, defenses look much weaker than they used to because of stupid rules like that. Hell, in ten years, I hate to see what football miight look like if they keep up the rediculousness. The horse collar rule is another one I don't agree with.

  • I been pulled down by the collar before and it sucks, make no mistake, but then again I have tackled my fair share that way. Its too efficient! ha ha. Another thing I disagree with is you cant hardly hit a receiver coming over the middle anymore, how are you supposed to make them respect your D if you cant blow them up? Back in the day defenses took a sense of pride in receivers being scared to cross the middle, now you hit someone and its a fine. You could be right about the managers.

  • Both the NCAA and NFL don't seem to like full on hits where you leave the ground. And because of it, you see alot more of the defense having to drag people down or wrap them up rather than lay the lumber on them. It's such a shame and a disgrace. They protect football players with pads. You would think that would be more than enough. Football hits are supposed to hurt. If they didn't then everyone and their grandma would play. It's a damn dirty shame I tell ya!

  • it is a shame. Its not just football, the whole world lives in fear it seems like. Some guy gets on tv and says something and everyone believes it whole heartedly and freaks out. Things are gettin crazy.

  • It is turning into a pussy game. I mean at a time when offenses are getting so complex, the NCAA is making more and more rules agianst a defense it's rediculous. They might as well go play with an arm tied behind their back.

  • Bob Davy is a fucking Aggie idiot. It's no wonder he makes a doofus call like that.

    BOOMER SOONER

  • don't worry about it Jaws, that announcer is a moron. It was a legal hit and he led with his arms. And the "eraser"??? WTF? It's called a hit. I think this announcer is just trying to act like he is a know it all and really comes off as a fool.

  • That was a completely legal hit. He didn't go at the head or lead with the helmet. "He launched his body..." Of course he launched his body. It's football.

  • He should get plenty of playing time for the 49ers.

  • hit him hard i hate mizzou BOOMER SOONER
