Hey bhavana....which brand of garam masala and chat masala you used? and i have one request for you can make a new video to show us how can you make ginger garlic and green chilli paste.. thae old video is not as infermative as u villl make new...so plz lets us know hows to make it..
are there a lot of indian supermarkets in florida? I live in Queens NY and there are hundreds of them, but I am moving to Palm Coast FL soon and I am very worried that there won't be any stores to buy these spices in. Are there any Patel Bros. stores there in FL? Do you have your spices shipped to you?
did not under properly what you asking but if you want to know about my paste box, you can watch video of how to make and store ginger, garlic and green chili paste...enjoy!
I really enjoy your videos you have a real sweet personality , thank you for sharing your ideas. I'm using a lot of the spices that you show. Can you make a video on how to use the mixed blends of spices. I see pretty good size bags in the ethnic isles of the grocery stores but I do get confused on what to buy. I make my own base for beans buy mixing my own blend.
Special blend of spices are basically ready to add in your recipes such as if you buy for chhole, all you do is add chhole masala and few other ingredients to spice it up more but if you like mild taste, all you can add is special masala and some fresh ingredients....will try to share more details...
This was great, I have so many spices in my kitchen now. Since I have started learning about Indian cooking I use many spices I have never tried before.
Can you tell the ingredients and the proportion of the various items used to prepare the different masalas, so that we can prepare even those at home. Atleast the ones which are possible.
I was inspired as I have admired the spice boxes of others. I shopped around and finally found a smaller but nice version of the spice tins at World Market for under $10. I look forward to future parts to this series!
Bhavana, I buy Garam Masala at the store, but If i want to stock my pantry with homemade Garam Masala what are the portions for each spice that goes in it? Thanks
Hi Bhavna very good and much needed video with good presentation; my congratution. Bhavna I keep my Hing in original bottle and then put that bottle in a freezer bag. Is that a good way to keep it. If you know of any better way to keep hing please let me know. I like to know this because of strong hing flavor it mixes with the other spices flavor, taste, and aroma. As always ashirvad to you and your family.
I just keep hing outside b/c of it's property, it is better to keep it just out in cool, dry area. I totally forgot to cover about hing. Now i have to do in next video probably...
gr8 video..... Thanks for starting from the basics.. ya, sure it very useful to newbies.... but, it's also useful to us those who are already cooking , if somethings we've left out or don't know properly....
plz don't miss out anything or even a small info... it will be very helpful for all of us..
Sorry but I can't change since it took several hours to get this video done. it was not rendering properly everytime I start making, i guess I need new good software but in next video, will sure keep in mind and next video will be more informative for more pantry ideas...keep enjoying!
thanks bhavana , I bought small small steel katories (plates ) from dollar store . and in a round plastic box placed them and it helps to store extra spices like whole things
Methi , kali mirch and elachi , rai etc . I need two spices boxes to put on shelf but it helps to not to mix ground spices and whole when by chance we move the spice box . when this box is put in drawer there is so much chance of falling on floor and it takes for ever to clean the mess . do not mind , sharing only .
Thanks so much for the video! Today I found the one existing Indian store in Santiago (Chile), and immediately went and bought the key ingredients that came up in most Indian recipes and that so far I had to ignore because I couldn't find them anywhere. The samosas I made were a success! Again, thanks for your videos. I absolutely love your style. ;)
