But the actual woman behind the image, Lorraine Collett Petersen, largely had trouble getting by throughout her life, even a failed attempt at acting. The story on how they found her is funny as hell. I guy would go up on harrassment charges for that shit today lol.

The United States is often criticized for having very few things that are culturally original. I would be inclined to agree with critics; in that changing such icons is bad, not because they've used the sun maid girl for so long, but because, well such things are unique to American history.
