This is by far my favorite Disney movie. I remember watching it as a kid and having nightmares about Maleficent. Need to get it on DVD! haha.

This was when Disney's princes started to have personality. Because in Snow White and Cinderella, the princes hardly said anything, so it was hard to say what the girls saw in them (besides the fact that they're rich and handsome). From this movie and the princess movies that followed, the men started to speak more and became more interesting.

We get an extra treat in this beautiful film: the chance to hear one of animations most beloved artists using his normal voice. Bill Thompson, who portrayed King Hubert, was best known for his M-G-M work with Tex Avery as the regular voice of Droopy as well as his nemesis Butch. He used variations of his Droopy voice as Mr. Smee in "Peter Pan" and forest ranger J. Audubon Woodlore in Disney shorts. He went "back to the dogs," however, by providing the voices of 5 dogs in "Lady and the Tramp."

If you're a fan of this SLEEPING BEAUTY, then you should definitely check out the Faerie Tale Theatre version, which stars Christopher Reeve as the prince, Bernadette Peters as the princess, and Beverly D'Angelo as the wicked fairy.

As a matter of fact, in my opinion, the entire Faerie Tale Theatre series is underrated, and definitely worth watching. All of the episodes are on YouTube.

Sleeping Beauty is the best movie Disney made its so realistic and dramatic! and Maleficent is the best villain in History! This movie will never be outdone by any other version! I am wondering how TIm Burton is going to do his remake of this movie! I don't think it will be this good though! Walt Disney and his team really know how to tell this story, and I don't think anyone could top this version!
