For a moment I thought MSS was phasing out the rear loaders for full automation, but then I read the description (relief)... would've sucked not seeing the Dempsters especially. Very nice looking trucks! Cool to see another whacky Python arm in operation, love always being able to see the garbage falling out of the bins too. That roll-off sounded mean when he powered up! :) Looks like he knocked that bin over at 5:09 deliberately? Nice footage mate!
@MitchellM15 haha - no, it would be impossible to do that as you'll see in my next upload. No, he didn't knock it over on purpose, it was his second week in the truck and he was getting used to it.
That's certainly a surprise alright. Nice footage, and a really nice looking truck. Interesting the the exhaust stack has a diffuser on the tailpipe similar to the diffuser used by Gillig on their buses to meet EPA07 standards.

Definitely not the best choice for the trash. The python looked OK for the greens, but with the 30 gallons they slide way to much, and since they are so short the truck grabs them pretty high, so when the carts is dumped it's like a foot or two above the hopper, which will eventually result in spillage. At least the python arm looks cool. Also this guy was operating like a pro! How long has he been driving this ASL? Nice video!
@WasteManTony the reason he looks like a pro is because he is using the auto dump. he positions the arm to grab the cart then pushes a button on the joy stick which grabs the cart and brings it over the hopper. then he lowers the arm and puts the arm back. all of the new recology pythons have this.

Definitly proud of MSS Cool This only fuels my recent obsession with Pythons !! pretty cool are they going to order custom Split trucks for recycling ? and are they going to eventually get rid of the rearloaders ? Definitly my favorite MSS truck next to the Amrep !! Great job and I would Just love to see more !!

damn that roll off almost sounds like its got a detroit in it. or an old cat maybe. but anyway, pretty neat seeing these asls here. python may not have been the best choice though lol sure is a heck of a lot faster than the mcneilus though! i think a bit more cart destruction is in your fututre :D the way he operates this makes me think hes been doing it for years! great job on this video too! also, are you happy to see some automated or would you prefer it to stay RL?
@3amrepmike3 Yeah I was surprised when I heard that roll off as well. Yes, he is a great driver and has been in the business for years. I am very happy to see some automated where it is practical, what I really like is that no RLs are really getting scrapped because they are taking every week routes in non auto places because they went from bi weekly to weekly yardwaste. Man those are some neat trucks, even though they're Autocars lol. Is this the only place they use the fully-automated trucks? Or have they been implemented in all of their eligible service areas? And finally, great video.
@RainbowDisposal This area is the only place they have the auto trucks. The other areas are impossible for automated collection and will stay semi manual. Thank you so much!
That is a nice set of trucks. I'm sure they will make there money back on them.
