  • the game alone would have been 30 dollars game 1/10

  • i hated it the campain was not very good and u got 3 new maps uhhh awesome?*not*

    2/10

  • dude you can't give a review of a game and not mention the best part of it. Ahem Firefight is survival mode perfected minus a matchmaking system

  • This game would be alot better better if it had some sort of match making and a longer campaign otherwise its pretty damn fun

  • @retrogamer2007452 hey man should i get Metal Gear Solid 4 or Halo 3: ODST? Which one has better graphics and more hours of gameplay. Thanks.

  • @nrothmeier I would go with Metal Gear 4 the campaign is much longer than ODST and it has a really awesome online multiplayer

  • I rate the game 6.7/10

  • the reason odst looks the same as halo 3 was because bungie didn't make a new game engine(to save time), they said this during there pax panel

  • yeah, but it only took bungie studios a year to make the game, so that is why the graphics are not a huge upgrade. I wish I can kill elites in odst... I miss my elite killing, DAMN YOU MICROSOFT AND YOUR ONE YEAR RELEASE DATE!!!!!!!

  • look on the bright side. the less time they spend on odst the more time they can spend on reach. i can not wait for reach to come out

  • They have been making halo reach since halo 3 came out and they are also working on a new non halo game

  • true

  • 2 polarising reviews between Cpt Jackhammer and Jon Graham. ultimately i believe ODST should have been sold for less than the $60 price tag on the count of it being an expansion to the series, but i thoroughly enjoyed firefight and the campaign ,while short, was still entertaining (the throwback to halo 1 was a good decision) and the whole recon armor thing wasnt the reason i got the game in the first place. the only gripe i had was the lack of fighting elites in the game. id give it an 8-9/10

  • Personally I find it to bore me sometimes the same old grunts with a brute yawn. Although they did do a pretty good job on the game. I just didn't find it to be all that appealing to me.

  • Wow. I stumbled across this review and loved it. Even though you lacked an video footage, the real "meat" of the review was there. You should definitely consider Professional Video game journalism, maybe an intership with IGN or GameInformer. 10/5 stars.

  • This game was great.

  • in my opinion it was good but not worth $60

  • i bought it for $45 because the price dropped

  • @XForRealzXX hey man should i get Metal Gear Solid 4 or Halo 3: ODST? Which one has better graphics and more hours of gameplay. Thanks.

  • The voice acting was terrible.

"You know the music, time to dance" If my comander said that to me I would beat the shit out of him.The vioce acting was poorly done and wasnt well written (the last cutscene was stolen from the end of the movie "chicken run", look for yourself) Imma gonna give ODST a 7.5/10 at best

    Campaign 6/10

    firefight 10/10

    graphics 7.5/10

    vioce acting 4/10

  • You stole those lines from DigitalPh33r, and so many games have voice acting like that. my opinion of the matter is that Halo 3 ODST is great, the only thing i see as a major issue is firefight tends to lag sometimes.

    Campaign 8/10

    Firefight 9.5/10

    Graphics 8/10

  • I may have stolen those lines from digitalph33r,but only because I agree.

(plus he was right about the chicken run thing, lol)

  • God-damn man, another idiot blind to make his own opinion and kiss the ass of anothers. Get a backbone.

  • Huh?

  • In a reply to some guy's comment criticizing the game. Coincidentally, everything Jon CJG said about the game in his blog.

God, anything that guy says his fans are led to believe.

  • I guess it's like a religion, how sad.

  • what horde mode thing was he talking about in fallout 3? I couldnt it in point lookout?

  • The cliffside grato were you pay a 1000caps and you go on the Safari in the cave with a bunch of ghouls with two other Guys.

  • Thank you, Ill go look that up now.

  • People need to realize that this wasn't even intentioned to be a game. This was just a gift to their fans. Don't believe me, look at the release dates of all major Halo games, theres Halo 1 (2001) Halo 2 (2004) Halo 3 (2007) Halo Reach( 2010) A 3 year wide difference, ODST came in only 2 years after halo 3. But they still did an excellent job with it, but I disagree with PandemicStrike saying that it's worth every penny. It was supposed to be $40 but Microsoft saw it as a moneymaking opportunity

  • Completely agree

  • I liked ODST a lot. I just hope that Bungie doesn't try to rape the consumer for cash by charging for a Firefight DLC. Maybe a Hornet Firefight map of some kind.

  • I,m so used togetting raped by bungie I'm use to it. But yea I bet they do that.

  • i didnt know about the famous guy who does dutch thats new

  • we need better graphics why?

  • wow my faith in captain jack has been restored! Totally agree with this except I personnally think the voice acting is really lame especially when you hear 'changing mags' for the millionth time. I was expecting a bad reveiew since Jack isn't the biggest fan of Bungie but I thought this review was great

  • Ahh Jar Jar. You're always a win.

  • I believe that Bungie probably didn't have enough time to make this game, with Microsoft probably pushing them and Halo: Reach being in development (Which is using a new engine akin to when Halo 2 switched to Halo 3). So this standoff game should have probably been $40-50.

  • Totally agree. you get a sort of feelin that this game hus been rushed. they shouldve just stuck to their 3 hour mini campaign expansion pack instead.

  • i bet they didn't have enough time for the graphics because it took a year to make and the visor mode took time to make it work with the excellence that we have experienced.

  • If you want this game for the campaign and firefight rent it for a week. Got bored of the game after a week or so since firefight doesn't have matchmaking to play with people

  • great game in every aspect. however its shortness and it not bringing any multiplayer to the table definately makes me think that this should have been 40 dollars max.

  • ODST is great! The story is awesome, and firefight can be hours of fun with friends. I did kind of get the impression from the game that Bungie wanted to do more but couldn't either because of time restrictions or the game engine. My impression from the Bnet updates was that ODST got the leftovers because everyone was concentrating on Reach. If that's the case then I expect Bungie to make Reach really good to play.

  • i know this is your opinion on the game and i will give you mine. ODST was not worth 60 dollars. the visor set off a huge glare in the sunlight. and the voice acting was slow and choppy. the cutscenes made me wanna cut myself. and firefight was a lame excuse for a multiplayer. the storyline broke apart from every other halo. and the bulk of the people who bought the game was for new h3 maps and recon armour. im glad i did not bye this game i would of been very very dissappointed.

  • for your next machinma review u should do hell its pretty funny

  • the review would be pointless, as the person who runs hell also helps make live with captain jackhammer, something tells me the review would be a tad biased

  • Isn't that statement a little hypocritic? Just because that person who runs hell (whoever he is, god.) helps make LwCJ, you think that the review would be biased? I'm sensing a little prejudice of your own there?

  • well it would be biased. do you think your producer would like you if you told them what you do sucks? no; so you would say that he was great in every way. well it doesnt matter anyway, because jack would give a high score for hell regardless. no offense jack, but youre pretty leniant on your game reviews.

  • Didn't you ever listen to his rant on Bungie? God.

  • not recently no. youre oddly defensive

  • Jack is my friend, what can I say?

  • this games a rip off.

  • this was a fare review unlike the master chief series which was very over rated but everyone has there own thoughts

  • well I agree with the fact that it is just like GOW2 with firefight and the fact that your screen gets red when taking damage or stamina (shields).

  • wait what you can get recon with odst ......dam it

  • I disagree completely with this video. Not to be mean or anything, but ODST wasn't worth the money. The firefight mode isn't that fun after you complete the vid master achievement and could have been a lot better with a matchmaking system. The graphics are nothing special as the use the same engine from Halo 3 witch came out a number of years ago. With all of the new games coming out such as Modern warfare 2, Borderlands, Bioshock 2 and etc. it is not worth the money.

  • U look sexy in ur amor

  • It's the HAlo 3 engine of course, so there's not much room for improvement. But I would HOPE to see a new graphics engine on Reach. Some improvement but nothing TOO different.

  • They have been working in Reach before ODST was anounced

  • I'd like to ask, The second disc contains the new maps, right? Well, lets say i want to play some Halo 3 story, so i pop in Halo 3, but then decide to play some matchmaking, do those maps only correspond to that disc or can you play them while on the Halo 3 disc???

  • so..... does anybody know the answer to my question??? I really need to know ASAP

  • The 3 bonus maps are on the disc only, but you can still go to all game modes in matchmaking as far as I know if you have up to the first 3 mythic maps.

  • I don't have the mythic map pack yet, but if i used the 2nd ODST disc, could i then play it on the Halo 3 disc? or is it like the new maps and only an exclusive to the disc???

  • No, its not an insulation disc like th Halo 2 map pack disc was.

Its basically another copy of the Halo 3 game minus the campaign. All of the maps are on the second ODST disc, so even if you never downloaded any of the maps before, you would have them on that disc. If you wanted to play on the maps you don't have yet, you need that disc. But if you wanted to play cam pain you would have to change discs to your original CD.

  • Sorry, replied to the wrong person if you were wondering about my comment.........

  • great review. But I am still not convinced into buying it. When the price dies a bit I will get it

  • the game was made in 1 yr so yeah....

  • I dont think you should include Halo Wars because it was made by another company

  • but it was a part of the franchise. That was all he meant by including the image.

  • I agree with most of what you said but I disagree when you said that ODST was worth every penny. Honestly I don't like paying sixty bucks to play a campaign that took only FIVE hours to beat on Legendary and only THREE hours to beat on normal

  • I love it! good graphics bad graphics, so long as it doesn't look like a 6 year old child puked up the textures of th game then I can play it!

  • if u have seen the cutscenes n halo wars except the first 1 they look live action and zombieland was hilarious

  • does any 1 haz reconz yet. cuz i do

  • SAME

  • I do

  • 3rd comment 5th view

  • great review, as always

  • I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!!!
