  • I've considered power on my HG, the new electric motors look interesting any opinion? Most powered hangies I know of seem to give up and return to free flying non power too?

  • Alot depends on where you live, when I lived in S.E.Wales there were plenty of accessible sites with short carry-ups and taking most wind directions. In Snowdonia there are few sites without a horrendous carry- hence I fly alot more power. Power lets you go wherever you like- upwind, sidewind and downwind with a good chance of getting back to takeoff. Electric power still seems in the development stage, expensive an short duration but I'm sure that'll change as technology improves. Pete

  • Cheers Pete, safe flying!

  • Yeh- it's the same glider- Wills Wing Eagle 164. Feels really light and 'free' to be flying from a hill after so many hours powered. I plan to fly from hills more often in future, Pete

  • Looks like a great flying site with awesome views. R U flying the same glider with short keel as you do under power? How did it feel after powered flights (aside from been lighter ;) Thanks!!!

  • WoW!! That is life ;) What for camera is it ?

  • It was taken using a Sony DSC-W35 digital still camera set on video mode and mounted on the keel end. Pete
