Blakmajik78 you are right but you know what? People like you and me appreciate her. She is beyond most conventional vocalist and people don't really like what is unconventional. In saying this I believe that you and I and the select few give her her props. Her's is a talent unmatched and I love hearing her as well as hearing wonderful comments like yours about her.
I acknowledge that this is a wonderful display of talent and artistry, but at 1:43 is one of the coolest and funniest things I've ever seen. "Missing you Girl.... Shoobie-Boobie-Weebie."
Rachelle almost knocked Kem off his square @ 2:03..how could he come back after that!!! DAYUUUUUM Rachelle u are truly gifted!! I'll bet that there are not too many singers (men or women) that want to duet w/her...how could they possibly hang???!!!
Her voice is amazing. the artist these days seriously lack talent, they can't sing they just show a little skin, and shake a little a** and they have a career. Rachelle is an example of God Given Talent
Love her voice as always.. Everyone did great..however this would have been 10x better without Kem..did he really think that what he did was a scat??? Hmm.. And it would have nice if at the end they would have had Anita sing "sweet love" instead
@sexinessrules....I'm definitely biased. Lol. I happen to think Rachelle is the most talented musician on the face of the earth. I haven't forgotten about Lalah though because she was definitely awesome too. Check out the videos that were uploaded about a week ago with Rachelle Ferrell, Lalah Hathaway and Anita Baker from the Catalina.
Lol...awe....Rachelle Ferrell is in her own league vocally....but she is predictable...I always know what to expect from her sound and style....I have been listening to her since she the early 90's.....like I said before I respect your opinion about the duo singing...but just disagree on Anita's expression.
Rachelle didn't need Kim there because anyone that has heard her blow knows she can hold her own very well. I wish they would let her sing a tribute song by herself, so the people that haven't heard her awesome talent can get a chance to really hear her.
No disrespect to Rachelle or Kem...but if you look at Mrs. Baker's expression she was more excited with Chrisette Michele, Tamia, and the last act. Now I love some Rachelle, but I respect ur opinion.
@sexinessrules No disrespect to you either...but you obviously don't read expressions very well. Looks like to me she felt the same way most Rachelle Ferrell fans feel when watching her perform...in awe.
@sexinessrules ....eeehhh Naa. Her expression seemed more like she was moved by the tribute they were giving. It was more of a mellow tribute so her reactions were mellow. Thats what I think anyways. Anita Baker was proud of all the tributes. Not one of them was more exciting then the other.
I dont know what the hell kinda sound that was, that came outta her mouth towards the end, where he said, "Oh, Come on now!", but I had to look at her twice, to make sure she wasnt a robot or something, because thats not a sound a human being should be able to make....she's just unreal.
@MisterCrazyLegs LMAO. I saw this when it came on BET and I started cracking up with the sounds they were making but I thought it was soooo beautiful for some reason, lol.
I luv the awards cuz they promote so many artists!! I was snoozing on RachelleFerrell but not anymore!!! WOW...She is AMAZING!!! Her & Kem Sound SOOOOO Good..Ther Are Complimenting Each Other Perfectly!!!! The Lost Art of Being A Vocalist!!
Its really really a shame Rachelle does not get the props she deserve....she is one of the greatest vocalist of all time...she is simply AMAZING. She had a short lived popular time in the 90's but her talents deserve so much more recognition than she's gotten...straight up!
Now I love me some Rachelle Ferrell and Kem.....but....they should have sung that song the way Anita Baker sung it, not the way they wanted. Anita Baker's way of singing that song was the correct way to sing it.
@sexinessrules With all due respect, to understand the manner in which Rachelle and Kem performed this song is to know that they were highlighting Anita's jazz side, because they are jazz artists --- the art of improv......that's what they displayed and it was tastefully, respectfully, and very masterfully done. Anita seemed very pleased and honored.
