I'm lucky enough to have had both the Sierra Cosworth and a Merc 190E Cosworth in the last 10 years or so. The ford was a quicker car but never felt as sorted quality wise, the merc's engine was a powerful unit with circa 200bhp on tap but I did find it a bit rough and ready compared to the 4 pot turbo ford.

I have a 190E I think the world of, not a Cosworth but the standard model with auto transmission. I searched for a Cosworth when I bought mine, but the ones in the U.S. have been ragged out...engines smoke, clutches shot, the owners never thought about them being collectable when they were new, based on the "cheap" MB 190 chassis, they bought them to DRIVE HARD. Honestly, the base 190E is more than enough car, but I love the idea of a factory stick, and the high revving sound of the Cos' :-)

mercedes 190 is such a good car, id rather have the 2.5 turbodiesel but thats to expensive in taxes and diesel, so i got a 2.0E myself. its fucking great, never had problems with it yet.
