The very first song of Elis I related to, connected with, thought was my soul singing those sublime yet mundane verses. Sheer poetry in the combination of her Voice and the lyrics. Requiescat In Pacem & GozoTotal

This is one of the first songs that deepened my love and interest in jazz when I was young. I first heard this song when I was 10 on National Public Radio in America and taped it on my little radio cassette player. I didn't know who this woman was, only that I was mesmerized by her voice and delivery. Although I later became a fan of Elis as an adult I am only now discovering 20 yrs later & rather poigiantly, that it was she who recorded this song, and I discovered her in the year of her death.
