I called xbox customer service or Microsoft support whatever you want to call it. The lady was the nicest person and I explained that I no longer had the xbox and I should not have been charged. She re-funded my money and also gave me a code for a free month of xbox live if I ever decide to get one. Don't judge the whole company just because you had 1 bad experience.
Same happened to me... They started to take a euro off every time I wanted to buy more live and then I just cancelled it at last. Never buy from them. Ever!

This is why I love Sony. My PS3 broke down this past November, and I ended up having to call the tech support guys at Sony to see what could be done. I got a hold of someone very soon after the call started, and the girl I spoke with was really, really helpful. The only gripe I had with them was that they had to send me a new console when I sent it in for repairs, and even then I was only upset because I had lost all of my saves.

xbox live is though the greatest social gaming network but it is to expenisve over time when it comes to payment. I have never ever used xbox live although i have a xbox i prefer to play on my alienware computer since it runs the same games that exsists on xbox and since i have steam i have the same multiplayer opportunities!

most customer services suck, especially tech support... they charge 90 to 100 bucks just to fix one ring of death on the 360. -_-
I recently discovered that theirs a store near my house that repaired my 360 for only 50 bucks and so far i have not gotten the red ring of death sense. Shows how well tech support fixes their own products. But none the less i dont have enough money for a ps3 yet...i just died alittle on the inside from just thinking about it. T.T

I hate things that force you to cancel online. I started one of those "free for a few days" Big Brother Live Feeds and planned to cancel before the free period ended, and I made sure to look into the cancellation process before starting it. Normally, they'd force you to call them (in order to try to convince you to stay), but if you went to your online account and changed your country and language setting to something, you could cancel online. Weird.
Thats another reason why i buy a year subscription with pre-paid cards, But Xbox has its ups you can purchase microsoft points and if you can't find a game in your local gaming store you can just buy it online and download it + It lets you re-download if you decide to delete it but than you want the game back
yeh, i had a problem with my ps3, i emailed sony and told them my problem, in 30mins they replyed but it seemed like one of those atomatic replys, it said somthing along the lines of "we are looking into it" about 6 hours later they emailed me again with a list of things i could do, and the very first one worked =D

Well, most of the games while being Windows Live Games, aren't made by Microsoft themselves, but Microsoft partners, etc. like EA Games, etc. so you are really paying those companies for the game(s), and of course the console is Microsoft's.
Can't say I had any issues with Windows 7 itself, Vista on the other hand, that was just a fail, heck Windows 7 performs better on my machine than XP did.

@MrRepzion Here I'll make it EASY for you. You go on the website, sign in. Click on Xbox/Accounts/Edit payment options, and you remove your credit card info. If thats too hard for you..then click Xbox/Accounts/Upgrade/Manage account, click on "on" next to Automatic Renewal. You hit "next"a couple of times then you switch the renewal to OFF. Thats another reason why i buy a year subscription with pre-paid cards, But Xbox has its ups you can purchase microsoft points and if you can't find a game in your local gaming store you can just buy it online and download it + It lets you re-download if you decide to delete it but than you want the game back

yeh, i had a problem with my ps3, i emailed sony and told them my problem, in 30mins they replyed but it seemed like one of those atomatic replys, it said somthing along the lines of "we are looking into it" about 6 hours later they emailed me again with a list of things i could do, and the very first one worked =D

i get the idea about how bad there service is because i was left un-noticed for a week :@ then they finally answered but the prices arent so bad as £37 for a game is good ($60) then its about £60 which is the equivalent to $96.2 for a game on thi ps3 :O all you have to do is look at the convenience buy cheaper games and pay £40 a year or buy a heavily priced console that gives you free access to the internet and a blu-ray player but with dear games its something you cant win xbox or ps3?

However much you sell your 360 for, tell me! I've been wanting to get a PS3 for awhile and my 360 is something that would need to go. I don't play it much anyway. This reminds me when my first 360 got the RRoD. Customer service said they would send me a box so I could send it in to be fixed.. and it never came. But I agree, the things I do like about the PS3 are the Blu Ray and free internet. Plus I believe personally that the exclusives are better than 360's.

i will admit, PS3 is a good system (and for those who own a 360, yeah, shut up). PS3 has without a doubt, really good games and BluRay, along with free online play

I stay with xbox because all my friends have it and it has the party chat thing. 50 dollars a year isn't that bad for live. but i agree 100% about MS customer service and trust me sony customer service isn't that great either, when my ps3 broke I had to fight with them to let me send in my ps3 to get another one. I sent it in and they gave me the same on back fixed, the said I would get a new one but no just another way they want to save money. It was fixed but still....

@chandru2446 Portal 2 has been confirmed for it, that's all I know. Basically steam users will be able to play with ps3 owners through cross-console gaming. to PC. Can't wait.

Well, most of the games while being Windows Live Games, aren't made by Microsoft themselves, but Microsoft partners, etc. like EA Games, etc. so you are really paying those companies for the game(s), and of course the console is Microsoft's.

Many phone services, they don't allow you cancel, unless you pay an outrageous fee.
I never have issues with XBOX, etc. I'm a PC gamer, and I don't usually subscribe to any premium stuff.

@MrRepzion Here I'll make it EASY for you. You go on the website, sign in. Click on Xbox/Accounts/Edit payment options, and you remove your credit card info. If thats too hard for you..then click Xbox/Accounts/Upgrade/Manage account, click on "on" next to Automatic Renewal. You hit "next"a couple of times then you switch the renewal to OFF. Hope that wasnt TOO hard for you buddy, don't hurt yourself. Game set and match. GG no RE, douche.

Yeah I realized this a while back too... I gave my little bro my xbox a while back, and realized they wouldn't let me remove my credit card #. and cancel the subscription... I had to wait until my card expired. He'll be surprised in June when it doesn't renew lol
