Standing still and crouch walking are the only way to avoid it. You can turn left and right very fast without being detected. The way to get Motion Censor assists is when one of your team mates kills an enemy when they are picked up on the radar by a tugs or MAV. An MAV is the same thing as a TUGS, but it can fly and destroy enemy equipment, such as spawn beacons, TUGS, and other MAV's. Best place to get motion censor assists is on Grand Bazaar and Metro. Just place the censor near "B" flag.

You can use the MAW instead of the T-UGS. Just park the MAW somewhere the enemies can't easily reach. And the MAW'S advantage is that you can change its position easily and remotely.

@MrSomaliasomalia You can't have both at once. Soflam laser designates targets for people with Javelins and any vehicle weapon that is guided. Laser designated targets can't dodge missiles with flares, tanks that were targeted will get hit with Javelins from the top down doing more damage, and you can shoot it around corners instead of straight on.

@Vladik785 TUGS can detect enemies- you know that. but when that detected enemy gets killed by ur teammate, it gives u Motion Sensor Assist (or watever it says) because it was YOUR motion sensor (and indirectly you) which helped ur teammate to kill that spotted guy. Get 5 assists like this and you will b rewarded with "Surveillance Efficiency Ribbon"

Good hint for recons that suffer from knifephyxiation (being suffocated by knife in windpipe):

Use T-UGS where you snipe from.

When enemy goes for the knife kill, you can hear him very well as he approaches.

It helped my knife allergy well, try it out :D

Ofc you can be a player and use soflam... but recon with knife in the throat is no help to anyone :I

no, it shows little red dots on your minimap at every beep it makes. So you only see the enemy at the exact point when it beeps. When it's silent you don't the those red markes on the map. Hope i helped! :)

@ElectroHaiso the SOFLAM is supposed to be used with the help of an engineers javelin or a jets guided missile. basically you point the SOFLAM at the target until you have lock, this allows guided missiles or javelins to acquire lock-on's without actually having to see the target, they could be behind a building and still have lock. additionally, the javelin or guided missiles will come down on top of the vehicle rather than the sides, this means more damage will be done

@pkConda Recon is for reconnaissance. BF3 is about helping your friends. While sniper weapons may not be that great with the best one still being a 2 body shot weapon they do have a lot of useful tools. The Radio Beacon Mobile Spawn point is the best equipment in the game. It helps so much on taking points or MCOMs if you play rush. The motion sensor also helps when defending a point you control. You watch one area the motion sensor watches another but remember if they move slow they can get bye

@pkConda Basically I spawn as Recon, place down a spawn point and motion sensor and then when I eventually die I switch classes and spawn off my point. Get a good squad together and you can wreck with these tactics.

Dont bother leveling up recon. I have all the sniper, (including the m39) and non of them are that special. Ya its fun shooting people with the m98b and calling out positions with the MAV but it is not that effective. Using these snipers are for a small niche of the market and all-in-all, not that beneficial. The majority of snipers can't hit for shit.I'm currently working on engineer and with the mines, stinger and bot, I can help out my team a lot more than sniping and using a drone.

@zHeathy Battlefield is more about Teamwork and playing the Objective. You can have a negative K/D in BF3 and be the #1 player on the team because you played and helped your team - not yourself.
