The alternate ending would've been that Richard became concerned that Harry and Becky would've come back as ghosts after Harry threatened to. So, as a precaution he called the Ghostbusters to set up a trap to catch them since Wikipedia said they were ghosts. Since Richard felt so secure he wasn't surprised to see them both when he opened the door. After firing a few warning shots for dramatic effect the Ghostbusters wrangled them and Richard's mind was at peace. THE END

I love how Nielsen plays it.. he first starts to get unnerved when Danson gives him that firey look and says "I'll get you"... then he looks at the frayed cord, and it's starting to mess with his head... he's not sure if he's gone or not. That's where the suspense really starts. It's the perfect build-up to the zombies and their revenge. lol

I've never rooted for the zombies before.. this is a first. hehe! And Nielsen DID play his final scene with a little bit of comedy.

@shortfuse1974 Actually, that might make sense considering the stories in the movie are stories in a comic book, that might be how the kid imagines they sounds...you could also say that's why Richard is Leslie Nielsen, he just looks like him in the comic so that's how the kid sees him.
