Ghost are fags, they just rip off Mercyful Fate and they cant even pull it off that well. At least when i've seen them, Blood Ceremony on the other hand is pretty fantastic, and i'd love to see them live... this song jams.
It doesn't make sense to me how bands like this one can get so much bull for talking about Satan and The Occult when horror movies get away with it all the time. I'm a professed Christian and I listen to bands like Blood Ceremony, Ghost, Black Sabbath, and Pentagram, and people constantly tell me that it's a bad influence. It's just an audible horror movie!! That's all it means to me anyway. To me listening to this kind of music is like reading Edgar Allen Poe or celebrating Halloween.
Wow, I'm a fuckin' fan of these fuckers and I've only known about them for about a month. I'm here in the U.S. and considering it's November, I'm sure they won't xome around here till' this coming summer, if they do a world tour even. But if they come around here, I need to wake the fuck up and get myself a ticket pronto. Love it.
If you like this listen to Coven. I'm not trying to be a douche cuz this band rules but I think you, assuming you haven't heard them, would like Coven. I just think the influence is obvious and nobody brought up the comparison so........blah, blah,blah.....
@RobertJSaunders Alright good to hear! Haven't checked out the other tracks (I've been pretty behind on new releases) so I'll definitely finish the album.
I've spun this in its entirety a few times now ... good stuff. The progression from the debut to this is self evident. Love the jazzy Morning of The Magicians. If you liked their first, you'll definitely dig this.
Going by this, not necessarily what I was hoping for. Sounds like they're switching gears as Jex Thoth did ... from more of a heavy guitar driven sound to a more witchy/retro-pop sort of thing. And that's cool, but again, I never like to hear a once heavy riff driven band drift into a more middle-of-the-road, "tasteful" direction.
@RobertJSaunders devils blood is pretty kick ass too... btw ghost sounds too much (vocally wise) like mercyful fate, but i aint complaining great band in their own right and with all the shitty music out now i prefer it
@atticusmalmo I'm travelling from Ireland to Germany to see them, I'm not there for Ghost, given them a listen and they are pretty good but I'll be there for Blood Ceremony.
@k386 Agree with ya there, wasn't what I was expecting either but I'm liking it now after a few listens, I just hope theres plenty of crunchy hard rock with plenty of flute on the other tracks....
me gusta es un poco setentosa pero muy buena

Better get this on vinyl. Along with Graveyard's Hisingen Blues, this seems like one of the best releases this year.

I really dig the tune. I can almost feel the hand of Aleister Crowley resting on my shoulder as I listen to this. I miss the flute solos though!

@20bstone dont worry there is still a lot of flute on the new album

Sounds quite interesting. It starts off a bit simplistic, but then progresses to sounding very epic. I loved the s/t, btw.
