After 31 years of listening to numan's music, this sound is still as haunting today as it was back then, time and music moves on unfortunately, but this sound will always stand the test of time. fantastic sound always.
Its such a shame no one else used the vox humana sound its such a beautiful yet powerfull sound.Love this version, very true to the original more please.
Saw Numan as a 12 year old in 1980 at Hamersmith Odeon, to this day nothing comes close to those fat synth sounds that he knocked out, this is pure class, Polymoog still rules, it gives me goose bumps just listening to this, thanks keep it up.
this is why I loved numan. Why did he walk away from this sound? After Telekon, I was so looking foreward to the next album. Dance was a huge disapointment. As were all his subsequent albums.
I built that sound on my 1984 Akai AX-80 a few days ago. I bought me a MXR Phase 100 and spent 3 hours working on waveforms and the right modulation and I got it. I would still love to have a polymoog 203a, or 280a just to have one. Great video!
Ah! It appears that you have two Polymoogs. Congrats on the ownership of two. However I do hope that you have plenty of patience and a good soldering iron. As you more than likely already know how finicky these machines can be. I have the Polymoog Keyboard and she is working great! But, it took much time and work to get it there. I have to spend a little time under the hood at least once a year to tweak it and keep it in shape. However, great performance! Keep up the great work!
I agree with you on how tempermental these moogs can be, i got a 203a which atm if workin great, but when i got it, it was knakered, my friend and i spent a month rebuilding its gut, all new componants. wonderful piece of kit though, cant help to thing all da guts of it could probably fit inside 3 or 4 IC's now lol.
Marvellous ! Could you post the notes you are playing or do a quick vid to show how to play ? I would love to be able to play one of my favourite Numan tracks.
I kill you for that polymoogs muahaahah, you have all the most numan synth staff...but where is an ARP odissey? lol just was joking perfect job man the sound of polymoog is the warmest I've ever seen..
hi liquidscreamer, i have a polymoog keyboard too, but the vox humana preset doesn't sounds as good as yours, can you please try to give me a tip? did you put an extra effect(phaser, flanger, etc) to obtain that gary numan's style? your advice will help me a lot i'll wait for your answer, thanks
awesome

You have to use the polymoog keyboards direct out bypassing the filters and then add a very slow Phaser effect
