Violation of free speech, law suit, file a charge against the city for violating your rights! Name the names and put them on notice. Get you a small drop cloth and paint Ron Paul on that and stake it up, Tent like, inside your back yard! just show the top with RON PAUL on it! It's not a sign, just put a chair under it! I would say to do one of two things.
1. Hang the signs back up and contact your local ACLU. They will legally protect you if the county decides to prosecute or fine you. Remember, you have rights and I'm sure that this ordinance is infringing on them.
or
2. Buy Blue and White paint and paint some interesting "designs" on your fence (namely Ron Paul banners). There probably isn't an ordinance against "painting" your fence, right?

3) violation of property (for trespass)
